AnyBody Technology provides engineering software and consulting services for musculoskeletal analysis of daily activities. The biomechanical insight facilitates concept evaluation, implant design, and in-vivo performance analyses for different body anthropometries, patient groups and individuals. A validated full-body model with an unprecedented level of detail provides in-vivo kinematics and dynamic individual muscle and joint forces including hip and knee and many other properties of the musculoskeletal system.

Value Proposition

Musculoskeletal models can provide more accurate physiological boundary conditions for finite element models of medical and anatomical problems. For example, such model can be a human joint with or without inserted medical device. In turn, the combination of musculoskeletal and structural analysis brings understanding of underlying physiological phenomena a step closer. AnyFE Converter is a tool for applying results of musculoskeletal analysis for a model developed in AnyBody Modelling System (AMS) as boundary conditions to corresponding finite element model of the bones.  It utilizes an XML-based Force Export file generated by AMS to create an Abaqus input deck by combining provided components of the finite element model and boundary conditions section. All components of boundary conditions, forces and moments, are applied in the native coordinate system of the human bone or quite often in the CT scan coordinate system. This input deck can then be further adapted to suite modeller’s needs. At the present moment this application comes with a command line interface only. For more details please refer to the tutorials

In addition, a plug-in for SolidWorks allows to convert mechanical CAD models to the modeling format of AnyBody. This enables to including mechanical designs and connecting them to a musculoskeletal model of the human, either to calculate the human induced loads on the product itself or to find the product’s influence on the bone or medical device loading.
