Partner Overview

AnyBody Technology provides engineering software and consulting services for musculoskeletal analysis of daily activities. The biomechanical insight facilitates concept evaluation, implant design, and in-vivo performance analyses for different body anthropometries, patient groups and individuals. A validated full-body model with an unprecedented level of detail provides in-vivo kinematics and dynamic individual muscle and joint forces including hip and knee and many other properties of the musculoskeletal system.

Spun-off from university research in 2002 AnyBody Technology employs a multinational team of experienced experts servicing customers in hundreds of organizations in Asia-Pacific, Europe, and the Americas from offices in Boston, MA, and Aalborg, Denmark.

Partner Highlights

Musculoskeletal models can provide more accurate physiological boundary conditions for finite element models of medical and anatomical problems. For example, this can be FE models of human bones and joints with or without inserted medical device. Multi-scale modeling by the combination of musculoskeletal and structural analysis brings understanding of underlying physiological phenomena a step deeper. AnyFE Converter is a tool for applying results of whole-body musculoskeletal analysis in AnyBody Modeling System (AMS) as boundary conditions to a corresponding finite element model of the bones and joints.  It utilizes an XML-based Force Export file generated by AMS to create an Abaqus input deck. Components of the finite element model and the boundary conditions from AMS are combined and connected in the conversion. All components of boundary conditions, forces and moments, are applied in the native coordinate system of the FE model, for instance human bone system, typically the CT scan coordinate system. After the conversion, the generated input deck can then be further adapted to suite modeler’s needs. At present, this application comes with a command line interface only. In addition, a plug-in for SolidWorks allows to convert mechanical CAD models to the modeling format of AnyBody. This enables to including mechanical designs and connecting them to a musculoskeletal model of the human. Thereby, you can simulate the human induced loads on the product itself or the product’s influence on the bone or medical device loading inside the human.
