Partner Overview

ART Engineering develops CAE software and provides services in the field of finite element simulation. PART Engineering is a technology-driven company known worldwide for efficient and solution-oriented software products such as Converse, S-Life-FKM and S-Life-Plastics. Converse is a software for the simulation of technical plastic products, the S-Life software modules are used for the strength assessment of plastic and metal components.

PART Engineering is technology partner of well-known CAE software companies with worldwide sales channels. The company headquarters is located in Germany. PART has more than 400 corporate customers worldwide in broad industry segments.

Partner Highlights

CONVERSE is an easy-to-use software that bridges the gap between injection molding simulation and mechanical simulation. The software is used in preprocessing. The multiscale modeling approach enables to consider the complex material behavior of plastics with only a minor additional effort. A mapping of anisotropic part properties like fiber orientation, weld lines and residual stresses as well as a mapping of scalars like pressures, temperatures, wall thicknesses and shrinkage + warpage is possible. As input the software needs the results of an injection molding simulation, the model data of the structural simulation and some basic material properties.

CONVERSE enables the consideration of the anisotropic mechanical behavior of injection molded short-fiber-reinforced plastics parts in FEA. Hence part stiffness as well as failure can be predicted more accurate. With the pressure mapping capability an assessment of mold deformations, e.g. core shifts, and also of the mechanical stresses within inserts during the filling phase can be made. The temperature mapping capability provides the possibility to consider the thermal loading of temperature-sensible inserts. Through its ease-of-use CONVERSE is also applicable for the occasional user. Due to its specific design CONVERSE guarantees fast and stable simulations.Interfaces to ABQUS/Standard and /Explicit as well as Solidworks Plastics are provided.

S-Life-FKM is an easy-to-use software that enables an easy and automatic assessment of FEM simulation results according to the German FKM guideline. The software is used as a postprocessor. With S-Life at the push of a button the computed stresses will be processed in such a way that an assessment of the static and fatigue strength according to the FKM guideline is carried out. As result of the assessment the static and cyclic utilization ratios will be displayed as contour plot. For particular individual nodes a comprehensive numeric report of the most important assessment variables can be requested as pdf printout for documentation purposes. As input the software needs the results of a structural simulation and some basic material properties. Interfaces are provided for various solvers. The scope of application is restricted to steel, cast iron and aluminum materials.

With S-Life-FKM huge time savings in comparison to manual assessment of individual nodal values can be achieved. The standardized approach according to the FKM guideline also delivers unambiguous Go-NoGo-decisions. Errors through manual assessment are prevented. The comprehensive documentation of assessment results can be used for quality assurance purposes and internal and external communication.

Interfaces to ABQUS/Standard and /Explicit are provided.

S-Life-Plastics is an easy-to-use software that conducts a static and fatigue strength assessment based on FEA results for plastic components made out of unreinforced or reinforced thermoplastic materials. With S-Life at the push of a button the computed stresses will be processed in such a way that an assessment of the static and fatigue strength is carried out. As result of the assessment the static and cyclic utilization ratios will be displayed as contour plot. For particular individual nodes a comprehensive numeric report of the most important assessment variables can be requested as pdf printout for documentation purposes. As input the software needs the results of a structural simulation and in the anisotropic case of an injection molding simulation and some basic material properties.

With S-Life-Plastics huge time savings in comparison to manual assessment of individual nodal values can be achieved. The standardized approach also delivers unambiguous Go-NoGo-decisions. Errors through manual assessment are prevented. The comprehensive documentation of assessment results can be used for quality assurance purposes and internal and external communication.

Interfaces to ABQUS/Standard and /Explicit are provided.
