Dassault Systèmes is recruiting a Sourcing Manager for its North American Purchasing Department, which covers all Indirect Purchasing needs for its North American.

The Sourcing Manager will report to the Purchasing Director, Americas and will work closely with the Global Purchasing Team based in the HQ in Velizy, France.  Responsibilities will include but not be limited to defining and implementing purchasing strategy in North America for Marketing & Events focusing on the Life Sciences brand Medidata Solutions, Inc.

Position Objectives 

  • Participate and/or lead group strategy sessions for Local as well as some Global Sourcing Projects
  • Prepare, negotiate and implement contracts in conjunction with corporate attorneys
  • Manage commodity/service suppliers and hold supplier reviews
  • Engage internal process owners as necessary to ensure a comprehensive and thorough implementation approach. May include but not be limited to: Legal, Compliance, Treasury, Finance & Accounting, IT

Your Challenges Ahead

  • Proactively establish and foster successful, positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, especially operational business owners and the vendor account executive.  Drive engagement through formal and informal interactions. 
  • Analyze Marketing & Events spend, review existing processes and internal client needs.
  • Address within sourcing strategy, Purchasing’s required savings and compliance targets as well as improvement plans for enhanced service delivery. Target strategic suppliers for on-going supplier management, risk mitigation, quality improvement and cost savings. Develop and execute a negotiation strategy to achieve the best TCO for Services with proven, auditable metrics, which will be reported monthly 
  • Implement and monitor efficient sourcing processes in accordance with Dassault Systemes’ and Medidata’s global policies and procedures 
  • Collaborate closely with the Marketing and Procurement teams to ensure alignment with budget, brand standards, and business objectives.
  • Use marketplace benchmarking to assess and understand new opportunities/solutions to be developed, remain up to date on relevant industry trends, understand capabilities of new entrants into the market, and understand category cost drivers & pricing targets
  • Stay current on trends in the marketing and events industries, providing recommendations for innovative tools, platforms, and experiences.

 

 

 Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s Degree as a minimum
  • Sourcing experience and expertise including familiarity in Indirect Sourcing, contract negotiation and supplier management; commodities/services in Marketing & Events++ 
  • Experience and/or knowledge of Marketing Technology (MarTech) to support the evaluation of technology requests from Marketing teams, manage SLAs with stakeholders in alignment with the IT Governance process, and assess how measurable marketing outcomes will be defined and tracked.
  • Experience and competence in using integrated ERP software, Workday+, and a strong knowledge of purchasing policies, procedures and practices including compliance with an ability to apply experience as necessary
  • Demonstrated knowledge of purchasing policies, procedures, and compliance requirements, with the ability to apply procurement best practices effectively.
  • Proficient in contract terminology and experienced in applying standard purchasing terms and conditions.
  • Creative and strategic thinker possessing strong problem-solving skills. Proven influencing skills 
  • Must be proactive, exhibit continuous improvement mindset, and an ability to affect change and build consensus 
  • Proven project management skills and presentation skills
  • Able to work comfortably with all levels of the organization (including top levels) in a global environment 
  • Experience in working within a multi-cultural environment and/or non-US based company 
  • Expert MS Office skills, emphasis on Excel and ability to complete complex spend or data analysis upon which business decisions will be based.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to speak French is a plus and not required

As with all roles, Medidata sets ranges based on a number of factors including function, level, candidate expertise and experience, and geographic location.

  • The salary range for positions that will be physically based in the NYC Metro Area is $79,500 – 106,000

Base pay is one part of the Total Rewards that Medidata provides to compensate and recognize employees for their work. Most sales positions are eligible for a commission on the terms of applicable plan documents, and many of Medidata's non-sales positions are eligible for annual bonuses.
