INTERNSHIP: Quality Engineering Intern — AI-Powered Testing - 6mo June 2026
Role Description & Responsibilities
Our Quality Engineering team builds and maintains the automated tests that validate how our products actually behave — the UI flows, the edge cases, the things users will run into in the real world. We're looking for an intern who's excited to work on two emerging challenges that are reshaping how QE teams operate: applying AI to make UI testing smarter, and figuring out how to test the AI-powered applications we're starting to build. You'll be an active contributor on a small team, working on problems that don't have off-the-shelf answers yet.
This is an on-site internship. In our Johnston, RI office.
- Research and prototype AI-powered approaches to UI testing, including techniques that use computer vision and AI agents to interact with interfaces more resiliently than traditional selector-based tests
- Help develop testing strategies for AI-powered applications, where outputs vary and exact-match assertions don't apply — think evaluating tone, accuracy, relevance, consistency, and how behavior shifts when backend models change
- Contribute to the team's existing automated test suites and learn how production-grade UI testing works end to end
- Share what you learn: write up findings, demo prototypes, and help the team decide what's worth pursuing
- Collaborate with engineers and product folks to understand what "quality" actually means for the features you're testing
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a degree (undergrad or graduate) in computer science, engineering, or a related field
- Coursework, personal projects, or serious self-study in AI or machine learning — for example, a class on ML, a project using an LLM API, or real time spent understanding how systems like computer vision models or language models work. You don't need production experience, but you should be curious about what these systems do well and where they break down
- Strong problem-solving instincts and comfort with ambiguity — a lot of what you'll work on doesn't have a known right answer yet
- Excellent written and verbal English communication; you'll be explaining your experiments and findings to people who weren't in the weeds with you
Nice to have
- Experience with Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or other UI automation frameworks
- Programming experience in Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Java or similar
- Prior exposure to software testing concepts, test design, or QA workflows
- Experience working with LLM APIs or building anything that uses AI outputs
In addition to working with your direct team, as a member of Dassault Systemes NAM Intern Program you will be invited to our Speaker Series, Lunch and Learns, Networking Events and employee functions. Besides the above, a sense of adventure and a willingness to have fun through work are great tools at our disposal. If you enjoy learning new things while working with a friendly group of highly skilled individuals, this could be a great fit for you!
