Description

We are providing this Technical Note to inform you about the release of BIOVIA Foundation 2020 SP1, which includes the following:

New Features

SEC-5512: The Materials tab in Task Plan now supports scanning container barcodes to add materials to the task plan.
SEC-5708: The Materials tab in Task Plan now supports importing materials from another task plan.
SEC-5953: A new equipment event type has been added: Cleaning. Cleaning events can be scheduled and executed in the same manner as the existing equipment event types (Verification, Calibration, Preventative Maintenance).
SEC-5955: It is now possible to attach a file to an equipment metrology event when the event is executed from the Admin and Settings area by using Edit. A single file can be attached to each event. Potential uses include attaching a photo of the cleaned equipment or a copy of the calibration report performed by a third party.
SEC-6119: The Materials tab in Task Plan now has a column that indicates which materials are associated with an external inventory system.
SEC-6179: The Materials tab in Task Plan now supports editing Material Name and Amount for materials that were imported from an inventory system.
SEC-6195: Added Expected Density to the Foundation Hub material properties.
SEC-6198: Added support for custom integrations with third-party inventory systems.
DAT-17548: The quantitative characteristics grid for activities in activity plans now displays planned values from the activity.
DAT-14800: The Activity Plan History window now displays audit events for quantitative characteristics.
DAT-14953: Sample ID fields now support using commas, spaces, and carriage returns as delimiters.
DAT-15415: When in grid edit mode, you can now paste numeric data into numeric and quantity fields.
DAT-15648: The Activity Results tab grid now provides a Flag Invalid & Abandoned Data context menu option you can use to control whether to display invalid results and abandoned tasks in a brown font. By default, the flag is on, but you can toggle it on and off at will. this is in addition to the Flag Modified Data option, which is off by default, but can be toggled on.
DAT-15694: The Task Plan Activity Result tab now supports pivoting on Context attributes. Note that you can populate Context Attribute values only through a BIOVIA Services engagement.
DAT-15903: The $synchronize facet of the API can now export reference data in CSV format, modified for human readability. Separate CSV files are provided for Units, Unit Types, Unit Categories, Unit Category Units, Vocabularies, Vocabulary Entries, Vocabulary Aliases, Equipment Classes, Parameter Templates, and Parameter Template Constraints.

DAT-16265: The data model and API now support tagging tasks to indicate whether they must be executed using the most current version of the activity or the version from which they were generated.
DAT-16579: Analysts can now save a personal default view for task subgrids called Nested Tasks View and another for sample subgrids called Nested Samples View. The default is applied automatically on all Task Planner tabs and widgets that nest samples under tasks or nest tasks under samples.
DAT-16667: Foundation now uses AdoptOpenJDK 8 (Java 8) instead of Oracle Java.
DAT-17252: The data model and API now store BIOVIA Study Manager metadata.
DAT-17254: The API now supports setting a task predecessor that is outside the current task plan.
DAT-17259: Administrators are now warned when changes to a location's type (site, building, room, etc.) could be incompatible with the chemical inventory system locations. This affects locations that are synchronized to the inventory system. Once synchronized, the location's type should not ordinarily be changed.
DAT-17320: Updated the Tomcat, Melody, and PuTTY libraries to the current release.
DAT-17356: A new Hub application setting, Entity Access Logging, can be configured to log an access event each time a user views or edits specific endpoints.
DAT-17371: The External Reference hyperlink in the Task Plan info card and in task grids can now show a meaningful Display Name. Tasks added by Workbook and Notebook now show the experiment name/ID.
DAT-17383: History window reformatted to improve readability of audit events.
DAT-17384: History window reformatted to improve filtering of audit events.
DAT-17386: Life cycle transitions initiated by a person that are completed by a service account on his/her behalf are now recorded in the audit trail under that person's account. These life cycle transitions previously were recorded under the service account. This change does not affect previously recorded transitions.
DAT-17390: History window supports exporting to CSV and Excel.
DAT-17532: The Ansible deployment scripts can now get the current status of all services in a deployment. This information is used at various points in the deployment process to review the deployment's status.
DAT-17535: The Ansible deployment scripts now support starting and stopping services over sets of servers.
DAT-17623: The legal notices about third party components are now consolidated and available in the program directory of the 3DS download platform. These notices have been removed from the Foundation installers and software.

Fixed Defects

SEC-6170: Items in the Lab Equipment widget with a due date of Today now export correctly to CSV files.
SEC-6235: Updated the Foundation Hub Equipment Guide to clarify the effect of Activate and Inactivate on GMP equipment.
DAT-12441: Corrected the History window to use the term "Task Plans" instead of "Runset."
DAT-13657: When you view Task Plan History from a Workbook Task Plan section, the Back button now returns you to the task plan section. Previously, you had to re-open the experiment.
DAT-17258: It is no longer possible to assign an invalid location type to a location via the API.
DAT-17376: Task Plan Task tab corrected so Specification data is included in context menu Copy and Copy with Headers.
DAT-17410: Enabled the use of negative numbers for two sample properties, Sample Cycle and Test Cycle.
DAT-17432: Previously tool tips that included HTML or HTML-like text did not always display correctly. This has been resolved.
DAT-17464: Task Plans and task widgets are no long missing Metrology task links for viewing the recipe details page in Compose.
DAT-17488: In prior releases the audit record for signatures had an indirect link to the entity being signed, which showed the service account as recording the signature. Signature records now show the direct link to the person that recorded the signature.
DAT-17496: Corrected copying of Boolean results from the manual data entry window.
DAT-17524: Task Split context menu now enabled for analysts with read-only access to Requestor's task plan.
DAT-17525: Sample Time Points with values of 0 no longer are displayed as an error (red outline of grid cell).
DAT-17553: Corrected Hub notifications so that they contain Due Date, Priority, and Applicable when applicable.
DAT-17555: Task Plan Task Edit dialog now blocks editing of input task-level parameters when task is In Progress.
DAT-17570: Create Task from Activity dialog now correctly displays Activity Extended Properties.
DAT-17572: The Task Plan Import Task dialog now correctly displays Specification column values.
DAT-17573: The Execute button has been enhanced to consistently evaluate procedure tasks that have zero samples.
DAT-17580: The Task Plan Activity Results grid now supports viewing of large datasets; previously it was limited to a maximum of 5000 results.
DAT-17606: The Task Plan Edit Task dialog now prevents users from changing Method ID and Method Version for procedure activities because these fields are managed in Compose.
DAT-17651: An activity's precision configuration is now correctly validated when the activity is added to an activity plan.
DAT-17652: In the Task Plan Activity Results tab, corrected an edge case so that the Activity filter lists all activities associated with the task plan.
DAT-17672: Corrected the display of results from the use case where a procedure activity retest task had one of the associated samples removed.
DAT-17673: Corrected manual data entry for the use case where the retest task was created from a task that was split or had associated samples removed.
DAT-17679: The Foundation Hub Admin Guide has been updated to cover the Public Reader and Contributor roles for collaborative spaces.

DAT-17741: Corrected an unnecessary synchronization operation that could slow down the life cycle retrieval process.
DAT-17777: Improved Ansible uninstall scripts to align file removal with the actions the installer takes when uninstalling Hub and Compose.
DAT-17783: The Task Plan Activity Results grid now correctly exports results.
DAT-17789: The History window no longer fails to display the Modified By user value for certain changes made by service accounts.
DAT-17794: Added support for Ansible deployments on Microsoft Windows Server 2019.
DAT-17795: Corrected a problem with the Ansible deployment script that caused a clean install to fail in a load balanced deployment.
DAT-17817: Some life cycle actions were captured in the audit trail with a numeric-based timezone offset rather than text-based Olsen time zone names. These entries have been updated to the text-based Olsen time zone names.
DAT-17836: Corrected the Submit button on the Activity Plan page to work correctly when extended properties are configured for activity plans.
DAT-17853: The History window now correctly displays changes to sample extended properties of type text.
DAT-17875: Corrected an issue that prevented Insight from correctly accessing task views.
DAT-17908: Corrected the rounding in Task Plan Edit Task dialog for planned values coming from an Activity Plan.
DAT-17912: Corrected an issue that caused extra files to remain after a silent uninstall of Foundation.
DAT-17918: The Activity Plan History window now displays history for quantitative and qualitative entries that were created by cloning another entry.
DAT-17942: Boolean properties with a value of False are now export correctly to CSV files.
DAT-17962: Hyperlinks are no longer displayed for procedure and protocol tasks that are still in their draft lifecycle state.
DAT-17980: The edit mode for the Task Plan Sample grid has been corrected to allow removal of quantity values from sample extended properties of data type quantity.
DAT-18002: The Foundation Hub User Guide's description of the Samples widget and Tasks widget has been updated reflect the introduction of Collaborative Spaces–instead of providing access to all tasks/samples in the system, these widgets now provide access only to tasks/samples in the active collaborative space and to tasks/samples associated with shared task plans.
DAT-18129: When tasks are split, the samples they are associated with are now removed from the parent task as well as being added to the new split task.
DAT-18131: The *All filter in the activity selector dialog showed only draft activities. The dialog now shows draft and approved activities.
DAT-18134: Updated Ansible deployment scripts to ignore expected remaining files after silent uninstall of Foundation.
DAT-18169: It is now possible to add new samples to a parent task when that parent task's samples had previously been completely split into other tasks (i.e. when no samples remained in the parent task).
DAT-18170: Corrected Task Plan Sample grid edit mode for the fill-down use case.
