Description

BIOVIA Data Source Builder installed from the BIOVIA Pipeline Pilot homepage does not support TLS 1.2 connections. You might see the following error if you try to connect to the Pipeline Pilot server:

Login Failed

Please check the Server name and the Port number.

Contact your BIOVIA Foundation Administrator for help.

Resolution

Add the following setting to the configuration file for BIOVIA Data Source Builder on the user’s client machine.

  1. Navigate to the BIOVIA Data Source Builder directory, for example:C:\Program Files (x86)\BIOVIA\Data Source Builder 2020
  2.  Backup your Platform.DSBuilder.exe.config file.
  3. Open the Platform.DSBuilder.exe.config in a text editor, and add the following runtime settings after </configSections>:

    <runtime>
    <AppContextSwitchOverrides value="Switch.System.Net.DontEnableSchUseStrongCrypto=false"/></runtime>
  4. Save the changes.
  5. Verify that you can log in from Data Source Builder.
