T65-2017: Recommendation to apply Microsoft October 2017 Security and Quality Rollup for .NET Framework for BIOVIA Notebook 2017 R2 (update to T56-2017)

BIOVIA has identified the Microsoft September 12, 2017, .NET Security and Quality Rollups (see here for detail) to cause the following issues with BIOVIA Notebook 2017 R2 web client:

1. The Word Section in an experiment fails to display an image of the Word document that has been added to the section.
2. When using the options 'Upload', 'Create' or 'Drag and drop' to add a Word document to a Word Section, page previews of that Word document are not displayed within the Word Document Page Selection window.

Microsoft recommends to install the October 2017 Security and Quality Rollup for .NET Framework to address this issue (see here for detail).

In addition to installing the Microsoft October 2017 Security and Quality Rollup for .NET Framework, Notebook users should do the following for experiments that contain a Word section and show the above issue:

1. For experiments which have not yet been submitted, you may download the content of the Word section and then upload it again.
2. For experiments which have already been submitted, you may add a new Word section with the same content and then submit this section.

Resolution:
It is recommended to install the Microsoft October 2017 Security and Quality Rollup for .NET Framework on a server where the BIOVIA Notebook 2017 R2 application is installed.
