CentOS Linux

In December 2020, the CentOS Project announced a shift of focus and a number of changes to their support policy. These significant changes were announced:

1. The future of the CentOS Project is CentOS Stream, which tracks just ahead of a current RHEL release.
2. CentOS Linux 8, as a rebuild of RHEL 8, would no longer be available after December 31, 2021. CentOS Stream would continue after that date, serving as the upstream (development) branch of Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
3. CentOS Linux 7 would continue to be released through the remainder of the RHEL 7 lifecycle.

BIOVIA previously clarified the support policy for the BIOVIA Discovery Studio, Materials Studio, Pipeline Pilot, and Solvation Chemistry product lines to align with these changes (T57-2021 Changes to CentOS Support for BIOVIA Applications). Please see the following as a reminder of the support policy for CentOS:

1. Deployments of the 2021, 2022, and 2023 releases of the above BIOVIA software on CentOS 7.x will be supported through the remainder of the RHEL 7 lifecycle or the BIOVIA release, whichever comes first.
2. Deployments of the 2021 release of the above BIOVIA software on CentOS 8.x are no longer supported.
3. Deployments on CentOS Stream will not be supported.
