T47-2017 - Changes to System Requirements for BIOVIA Workbook 2018

BIOVIA would like to announce there will be several changes with respect to System Requirements for the upcoming release of Workbook 2018.

Resolution:
Significant changes include:

1. .Net Framework 4.6.1 will be required on the Vault Server and Client machines. This is needed to support TLS 1.2.
2. Windows Server 2008 R2 will no longer be supported for the Vault Server. Only Windows Server 2012 R2 will be supported.
3. There will be no 32-bit version of the Workbook Client Installer. Only the 64-bit version will be supported. Supported Operating Systems for Client machines include Windows 7 SP1 (64 bit), Windows 8.1 (64 bit) and Windows 10.
4. All Client machines must have the 2018 version of the Workbook Client installed for use with Workbook 2018. Previous versions will not be supported.
5. The Vault Server has been upgraded to use Apache Tomcat 8 and Java 8. These underlying components will be installed automatically when running the Vault Installer.
6. A new license file will be required for Workbook 2018. This will automatically be provided during the time of Support renewal. If planning to install or upgrade before the time of renewal, please contact BIOVIA Support or your Account manager.
