T36-2018: Safari 12 will be supported in future release of BIOVIA Notebook

For Mac users accessing BIOVIA Notebook via Notebook Cloud or Science Cloud
 
Apple will remove support for NPAPI for the upcoming release of Safari 12, which is announced for 24th September 2018.
 
 
Resolution:

  • This means that you should not use Safari 12 with BIOVIA Notebook, as you will lose the ability to interact with Microsoft Office and ChemDraw.

 

  • We are working on a new Notebook release , which will be made available for Notebook Cloud and Science Cloud customers on 24th September 2018. This will add support for the latest versions of Google Chrome and Firefox on Mac.

 

  • We are planning to provide support for Safari 12 with a subsequent release of BIOVIA Notebook.

Note: Customers, who are using BIOVIA Notebook as an on-premise installation should look at T33-2018 for advice for Mac users.
