T30-2016: BIOVIA Workbook May Transpose Day/Month Values for Certain Windows-specified Date Formats

When a row of data in a Material/Table section of Workbook gets copied and then pasted, the day and month values may get transposed if the Windows date is formatted to month/day or day/month.  For example, a 10-May-2016 value may become 05-Oct-2016 based on regional settings/differences.

The Windows operating system includes Format options in the Region and Language area of the Control Panel. For example the English (United States) region provides a default set of Short Date options such as M/d/yyyy, MM/dd/yy, and dd-MMM-yy. The common order of month and day values for English (United States) is month and then day. This defect occurs if the dd-MMM-yy option is selected and does not occur with other selections, because dd-MMM-yy differs from the generally accepted month and then day for English (United States). In contrast the common order of month and day values for European regions is day and then month. So this defect will also occur if the French (France) region is configured to the MM/dd/yyyy date format.

Note that the above setting for French (France) requires use of the Additional Settings button in Windows, followed by entering a customized date format. The Workbook product does not support such settings; it supports only the default options that are available in the ‘Short date’ dropdown.

This defect does not occur when single cells are copied and then pasted; it occurs only when an entire row of data is copied and then pasted.
