T19-2017 - Clarification regarding dates of support for BIOVIA Workbook 2016, 2017 and 2017 R2
Workbook
Per the standard BIOVIA Support policy:
For BIOVIA applications deployed in unregulated, non-validated environments (e.g., Discovery), BIOVIA will provide Mainstream support for each major release on the supported combinations of 3rd party platforms documented in Hardware & Software requirements for 3 years from the date of release.
For BIOVIA applications deployed in regulated environments, where the installation must be validated for regulatory authorities, BIOVIA will provide Mainstream support for each major release on the supported combinations of 3rd party platforms documented in Hardware & Software requirements for 5 years from the date of release.
Based on this Support policy, the dates of support that were listed for BIOVIA Workbook 2016, 2017, and 2017 R2 were incorrect in the Product Release Documents for these versions. The dates of support should have been listed for an additional year in all cases.
Resolution:
The correct support dates for these releases are as follows:
Version | Legacy support begins | Unsupported as of |
|---|---|---|
BIOVIA Workbook 2016 | 01-Jan-2019* / 01-Jan-2021** | 01-Jan-2020* / 01-Jan-2022** |
BIOVIA Workbook 2017 | 01-July-2019* / 01-July-2021** | 01-July-2020* / 01-July-2022** |
BIOVIA Workbook 2017 R2 | 01-Jan-2020* / 01-Jan-2022** | 01-Jan-2021* / 01-Jan-2023** |
* For applications deployed in unregulated environments e.g., Discovery
** For applications deployed in regulated environments, where the installation must be validated for regulatory authorities.
