Background
In Discovery Studio/Pipeline Pilot 2022, several enhancements were made to the Pipeline Pilot license file format. As a result, licenses issued prior to 25 October 2021 will be reported as not valid when upgrading to Discovery Studio/Pipeline Pilot 2022. Note, this does NOT affect your FLEXlm license file for your license server.
If you plan to upgrade to the BIOVIA 2022 release, please read the information before performing the installation:
- If your license was issued after 25 October 2021:
- Your license is already compatible with the BIOVIA 2022 release. You may proceed with the installation using the license.
- If you plan to upgrade to the BIOVIA 2022 release after your current license expires:
- Your license file will automatically be upgraded to support this new release upon renewal.
- If you plan to upgrade to the BIOVIA 2022 release before your current license file expires and that license was issued prior to 25 October 2021, you will need to request a new license file to support this new release following the steps below:
- To request a new license file, download and fill out the License Key Request Form available on https://www.3ds.com/terms/software-keys/, under the section OBTAINING SOFTWARE LICENSE KEYS.
- The form contains instructions on how to fill out the form and submit it to your BIOVIA Sales or Sales Transaction Specialist usual point of contact.
- In section 4, instead of providing a list of product trigrams, you can also provide the last License Key Order number (LKOXXXXXXX) through which you received the license file you are currently using. You can find these references in your current license file or in any communications with your BIOVIA Sales or Sales Transaction Specialist usual point of contact.
- Due to the expected volume of requests, there may be delays in issuing your license. We recommend contacting your account manager at least two weeks prior to any planned upgrade.
