T106-2015: Microsoft Update 3104002 Prevents Container Receipts and File Uploads in BIOVIA CISPro Global

On December 8th, 2015, Microsoft released security update 3104002 for reported vulnerabilities in Internet Explorer. This update alters behaviors for Classic ASP which prevents several CISPro features from operating normally, and will cause container receipts to fail with a fatal error message and not generate barcodes.

Resolution:
Customers that have applied the 3104002 security update to their CISPro environment should apply Microsoft’s hot fix 3125446 and restart the affected servers. More detailed information and the download link for the hot fix can be found at this Microsoft URL:

BIOVIA strongly recommends creating a full backup of the CISPro servers before applying the hot fix should a rollback become necessary.

Users may encounter the following error and behaviors:
• When attempting to create new barcodes, the following fatal error is displayed:
Could not receive this packdetailid: against this standardid: ; no approved vendor record found
• Users are not able to upload .txt scan data files from the CISPro Mobile (Janam) scanner
• Chemical SDS and material documents uploads do not function
• Users are unable to upload Certificates of Analysis to container records or lots
• Uploading FR3 layout files to advanced reports
• Adding .mol structure data to a material, or performing a structure search via an uploaded .mol file does not work.
