T104-2015: BIOVIA Pipeline Pilot Client Crash with Internet Explorer Updates
Pipeline Pilot Client
d
Resolution:
If you experience this problem, and cannot roll back the Internet Explorer security update, you can reset all IE settings to default as a step to diagnose what combination of factors may be responsible for the instability.
This link describes the reset steps (with links for other IE versions): windows.microsoft.com/en-us/internet-explorer/reset-ie-settings
Another option is to run the System File Checker tool (sfc /scannow): support.microsoft.com/kb/929833
The issue can also be minimized by limiting usage of features that use the embedded Internet Explorer windows, especially the Data Record Tree Viewer and watch windows used in protocol debugging.
Since this problem has come to light (immediately prior to the Pipeline Pilot 2016 release), we have begun planning a longer term solution, to be announced.
