Getting Started With CAA V6 - Aerospace Sheet Metal Design

This document is intended for people who are discovering the Aerospace Sheet Metal Design solution such as new hired, consultants, developers or designers joining a new team… The goal is to provide an overview on the main Aerospace Sheet Metal Design relevant concepts both in interactive and CAA scenarios in order to be quickly self-sufficient. Obviously, this document could not substitute itself to a dedicated training as well as it is not illustrating an exhaustive view of Aerospace Sheet Metal Design capabilities. This goal is to make the CATIA Aerospace Sheet Metal Design world user friendly for a beginner and give useful maps to the official documentation to get a deeper knowledge.
This document is based on the V6R2013x level.

The goal is to provide an overview on the main Aerospace Sheet Metal Design relevant concepts both in interactive and CAA scenarios in order to be quickly self-sufficient.
It is divided into three main parts:
The first one will introduce the basic concepts about Aerospace Sheet Metal Design Solution, Aerospace Sheet Metal Design features, the scope of the CATIA Aerospace Sheet Metal Design solution.
The second part is dedicated to the basic interactive use to create a model using Aerospace Sheet Metal Design methods.
In the third part, the reader will find a description of CAA model and code sample to create the desired model.
There are no prerequisites about the Aerospace Sheet Metal Design solution. However, the reader should have some mandatory skills such as launching workbenches, creating a basic surface, building a CAA workspace using visual studio C++.
The reader can read in the CAA documentation: Rules and Guides | C++ Rules and Guides and Rich Apps C++ | Foundations.
Also, the reader is encouraged to read the basic about the Generative Shape Design in the official Interactive documentation CATIA|Shape|Generative Shape Design because Aerospace Sheet Metal Design scenarios can require shapes generated in the Generative Shape Design workbench.
