Software Developer SIMULIA (F/M)
As a Software Engineer, you will join the 3DEXPERIENCE Fluids Development Team at the Dassault Systèmes headquarters in Madrid.
In this role, you will take part in delivering world-class CAE (Computer-Aided Engineering) applications built on a highly scalable, robust software architecture.
Your team is the central orchestrator of the simulation lifecycle: you will build the next-generation application that allows engineers to seamlessly configure complex fluid dynamics cases, launch high-performance solvers, and hand off results to advanced post-processing tools.
Your mission
- Next-Gen Application Development: Lead and contribute to the development of a next-generation Fluids application within the 3DEXPERIENCE platform, focusing on seamless user workflows and high-density data management.
- Platform & Environment Integration: Collaborate on integrating Navier-Stokes (NS) and Lattice Boltzmann Method (LBM) fluid solvers into unified multiphysics and multiscale environments within the 3DEXPERIENCE platform.
- Orchestration & Data Flow: Design robust APIs and data contracts to smoothly handle case setups, trigger external solver executions, and transition control to downstream post-processing applications.
- Modular Architecture & Code Reusability: Work alongside the global fluids development team to modularize legacy and new codebases, driving reusability through clean architecture and design patterns.
- Knowledge Sharing & Mentorship: Actively document developments and spearhead knowledge-sharing initiatives to elevate the technical capabilities of the immediate team.
- Technological Intelligence: Keep abreast of the latest technological trends (including AI integrations, next-gen programming languages, and cloud architectures), understand developer partner requirements, and benchmark against competing CAE products to future-proof our applications.
Qualification
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Core Development:: 3+ years of professional experience in C++ development, with a strong emphasis on writing clean, maintainable, and efficient code.
- Software Architecture: Solid understanding of software integration principles, general software architecture, and modern Design Patterns (with particular emphasis on Service-Oriented Architecture / SOA).
- Modern DevOps: Hands-on experience working within CI/CD (Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery) pipelines and automated testing environments.
- Soft Skills: A proactive, curious, and dynamic mindset, with the proven ability to work autonomously while collaborating effectively within a cross-functional team.
Nice-to-Have / Desirable Skills (Would be a plus):
- Object-Oriented Frameworks: Experience working with a Single-Root Class Hierarchy Framework in C++ (such as Qt or legacy frameworks like MFC).
- GUI Frameworks: Proven experience with modern Graphic User Interface (GUI) frameworks, specifically Qt (C++) or React (JS/TS).
- Full-Stack Capability: Familiarity with full-stack development patterns, including Web Services, OpenAPI, RPC, and modern frontend technologies (TypeScript/JavaScript).
- Computer Graphics: Experience in Computer Graphics development (e.g., OpenGL, WebGL, or general 3D rendering concepts).
- Domain Knowledge: Background or foundational knowledge in CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) or CAE software workflows.
