Senior Product Manager I

About the Team:
Our team is responsible for Medidata's platform data quality and risk management solutions. Our customers depend on our ability to aggregate and analyze large quantities of data for multiple stakeholders, in real-time. We focus on solving complex data oversight problems while developing user-friendly solutions. What we do is as much art as it is science!
What we're looking for:
You should be a product evangelist, eager to discover avenues for innovation and capable of guiding cross-product and engineering teams in defining, scoping, and delivering a top-notch, competitive Data Management and Data Quality Oversight product to the market. Reporting to the Director of Product Management, this role can be based in our NY or NJ office, or offered as a remote position anywhere within the US.
Responsibilities:
- Superior analytical, problem-solving, quantitative, and critical thinking abilities to use data and metrics to back up assumptions, recommendations, and drive product decisions.
- Strong problem solving and issue-resolution skills, with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple and competing priorities in an agile development environment.
- Experience translating both business needs and technical needs to appropriate teams.
- Ability to manage work from teams of widely varying skills and levels.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and great attention to detail.
- Collaborate on product design with product managers, architects and engineers.
- Determine user requirements, functional requirements, data flows, business process flows.
- Create epics and user stories and lead story mapping to develop functionality.
- Lead sprint planning and grooming.
- Partner with project management, engineering and testing to define project delivery timelines.
- Prioritize backlog for new feature and enhancement development.
- Strong scientific background, product instinct and creativity, leadership experience, ability to utilize multiple points-of-view.
- Rigorous & inventive, open minded, appetite to learn.
- Strong project management and communication skills.
- Product Manager experience, successfully delivered and supported production products that met revenue and user satisfaction targets.
- Technical experience as a developer or product designer.
- Ability to “think like a user”, culture of DS products as well as competitors.
Qualifications:
- 8-10+ years Product Management experience defining, launching and iterating lifescience SaaS products.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or life science.
- Experience with user experience and business process development.
- Experience working with diverse teams of engineers and designers within an Agile framework.
- Nice to have: Proficiency with documentation tools such as Confluence, JIRA, Github and standard measurement platforms such as Pendo Analytics.
As with all roles, Medidata sets ranges based on a number of factors including function, level, candidate expertise and experience, and geographic location.
The salary range for positions that will be physically based in the NYC Metro Area is $135,000-180,000.
The salary range for positions that will be physically based in the California Bay Area is $141,750-189,000.
The salary range for positions that will be physically based in the Boston Metro Area is $132,750-177,000.
The salary range for positions that will be physically based in Texas is $118,500-158,000.
The salary range for positions that will be physically based in all other locations within the United States is $120,750-161,000.
Base pay is one part of the Total Rewards that Medidata provides to compensate and recognize employees for their work. Most sales positions are eligible for a commission on the terms of applicable plan documents, and many of Medidata's non-sales positions are eligible for annual bonuses.
