Simulation of induction hardening process involves two critical steps: induction heating and quenching. Attend this eSeminar and learn to perform this end-to-end simulation using Abaqus/CAE. The coupled thermal-structural-electromagnetic behavior is modeled using temperature dependent material properties on the electromagnetic side while accounting for phase transformations of steel on the thermal-structural side. 


  • Setup and run a coupled electromagnetic-thermal-structural induction hardening co-simulation from Abaqus/CAE.
  • Account for material phase transformations of steel using UMAT, UMATHT user subroutines developed by DANTE Solutions.
  • Deduce process parameters for single and dual frequency induction hardening through simulations.
