User-Led Breakout Sessions (x 3)

Next Generation PLM

PLM methodologies of today, while working, are less than optimal. Collaboration is limited. Visualization is mostly text strings and tree structures. Management of configurations is done through creating bills of materials and CAD assemblies. The future will look quite different. This talk will go into the problems of our current paradigms and alternate ways to achieve the same results with less overheard and delay.

Speaker: Jeff Erno, Consulting Engineer, Virtual Product Development, GE Power

Model Based Enterprise Challenges

When moving to a Digital Product Definition in a model-based enterprise, there are several considerations to keep in mind. For example, when working with the supply base, how do you properly IP with partners? How do you deal with both mature and primitive tech suppliers for build-to-print? How do you certify an aircraft in the absence of a traditional “drawing”? This presentation will show how Bell Helicopter has addressed each of these challenges.

Speaker: Chas Marsh, Chief Design Tools | Project Manager | Systems Engineer and Jeremy Miller, ENOVIA Solutions at Bell Helicopter

Protecting the People that Power the World - IP Protection in GE Power

GE Power has a global footprint of employees, suppliers, and customers. Enabling easy collaboration can seem at odds with protecting intellectual property, all while working under the various global export regimes. This session will share the journey of GE Power in the DS products: what challenges the landscape poses, how GE Power is currently addressing the situation in 2012x and 2015x, and the exploration in 2016x as GE Power moves to the 3D power plant and total product lifecycle management.

Speakers:  Lyn Torres, Principal Engineer, Document Management and Rose Martinez-Brandon, Principal Engineer, Security/Regulatory Compliance, GE Power

Due to the large number of configurations in its design files, Lippert Component’s ENOVIA SMARTEAM installation blocked its ability to upgrade SOLIDWORKS. So in 2010, Lippert began a search for a new collaborative innovation solution. In this session, learn why Lippert chose ENOVIA, how they’ve managed the migration/transition and what benefits they are seeing today. This will be an interactive discussion on what to expect on the journey to ENOVIA 3DEXPERIENCE.

Speaker: Ed Fennen, Director of Engineering Systems, Lippert Components, Inc.
