Working Student (m/f/d) – AI Research for Graphics and Materials
Join the Appearance Core team within the 3DEXPERIENCE Platform R&D organization at Dassault Systèmes and become part of an innovative group focused on enabling next-generation interactive 3D experiences through generative AI! Our team develops core technologies that power intelligent, data-driven visual content across the platform.
In this role, you will help identify, evaluate, and integrate state-of-the-art generative AI models for material and texture synthesis by analyzing open-source solutions, designing evaluation methods, and supporting the development of future AI-driven graphics capabilities.
Role Description & Responsibilities
You will conduct structured surveys of open-source generative AI models, focusing on their ability to generate material textures from textual prompts
You will design and implement systematic testing protocols to evaluate model performance based on defined quality criteria
You will document and compare experimental results, providing clear insights and recommendations for model selection
You will propose integration strategies for promising solutions within the 3DEXPERIENCE platform ecosystem
You will support exploratory AI research activities, such as curating datasets and training custom models for specialized material-generation tasks
You will collaborate with researchers and engineers to bridge rapid prototyping efforts with long-term innovation initiatives
Qualifications
You are currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Applied Mathematics, or a related field
You have a strong interest in artificial intelligence and are motivated to apply academic knowledge in a research-oriented environment
You have programming experience in Python and are familiar with at least one major AI framework (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow) and Hugging Face
You understand basic concepts in machine learning, computer vision, or computer graphics
You are interested in reproducible experimentation and structured evaluation of AI models
You are familiar with the usage of textures in computer graphics (UV mapping, procedural texturing, sampling and filtering, mipmapping ….)
You have strong analytical and documentation skills, with the ability to summarize technical findings clearly
You are proactive, curious, and enjoy exploring new technologies in a collaborative team setting
