SIMULIA Great Lakes Regional Users Meeting 2011

From October 11, 2011 to October 12, 2011
The Inn at St. John's, Plymouth, Michigan United States

Our 16th Annual Regional Users Meeting (RUM) provides a valuable forum for discovering and understanding how experts in engineering and academia are applying the latest simulation technology and methods to accelerate and improve product development. Attend the one-day RUM on October 12 and also join us on October 11 for one of our RUM Pre-Meeting Advanced Seminars.

Join industry colleagues to participate in a valuable exchange of industry knowledge and networking. Topics will cover latest product enhancements as well as customer presentations offering insight into how industry leading companies are applying Abaqus, Isight, and SLM to accelerate the exploration of real-world physical behavior of materials and products in order to improve performance, safety, and quality of life.

Attend one of our Pre-RUM Advanced seminars to gain deeper insight into two different topics.

Solving Contact Problems with New Capabilities in Abaqus
This seminar focuses on Abaqus/Standard with additional discussion of Abaqus/Explicit. Topics include general contact capabilities, insight on numerical methods, tips for improving convergence, enhancements to the implicit dynamics procedure and more.

Using the Abaqus/CAE Topology and Optimization Module, ATOM
Attend this seminar and gain insight on the exciting new features of Abaqus/CAE including the new Abaqus Topology Optimization Module (ATOM). ATOM provides the ability to perform topology and shape optimization within the native Abaqus/CAE environment. Learn the different applications and examples of ATOM uses. This seminar also covers modeling with new CAD bidirectional interfaces, meshing enhancements, mapping tools for imported fields and the new substructures interface within Abaqus/CAE.

The final agenda for the RUM is below.

Plenary Session - Grande Ballroom

Registration and Breakfast

Opening Remarks

SIMULIA Technology Roadmap
Chris Wohlever, Development Group Manager for Standard Mechanics, SIMULIA

Role of Computational Analysis at GM Powertrain
J. (Siva) Sivakumar, Engineering Group Manager, General Motors

Manufacturability of Conical Joints using Abaqus for CATIA and Isight
Satyendra Savanur, Ford Chassis CAE

Coffee Break
Sponsored by CD-adapco

After the Plenary Session concludes, we will run two tracks concurrently for Abaqus and Isight. The presentation times run in parallel which allows our customers to attend different sessions within the two tracks if they choose.
