Description

In the Foundation 2025 SP1 Product Release Document, the upgrade paths for BIOVIA Foundation specified that the Required Interim Upgrade required an upgrade to 2024 SP1 HF2 before upgrading to Foundation 2025 SP1. This has been modified and corrected to reflect 2024 SP1 HF3 as the correct Interim Upgrade for most cases. PLEASE READ IMPORTANT CONSIDERATIONS AND CORRECT UPGRADE PATHS BELOW.

NOTE: Previously, a decision was made to eliminate recipe extended properties from the product. After Customer feedback and reevaluation, this decision was reversed and recipe extended properties were reincorporated back into the product.

IMPORTANT: During the upgrade process to BIOVIA Foundation 2025 SP1, migrating Process Element Templates (PETs) after upgrading to 2024 SP1 HF3 is critical to successful migration of PETs from Compose Standalone to Foundation Hub.

IMPORTANT: The ONLY reason Customers should go from 2024 SP1 to 2024 SP1 HF3 is for PET migration. If PETs have already been successfully migrated, there is NO NEED to go through 2024 SP1 HF3 and a direct upgrade to 2025 SP1 is directed.

IMPORTANT: For Customers on 2023 SP2 HFx, upgrade directly to 2024 SP1 HF3 to preserve recipe extended properties.

Note: If currently on 2024 SP1 (HF1 or 2), then recipe extended properties have already been removed from the UI.  Recipe extended properties are re-established in 2024 SP1 HF3.

1. Recipe extended properties are lost during migration to Compose Hub. - PROP-12759
2. Some process element templates cannot be migrated from Compose to Hub - PROP-12712
