CATIA SysML v2 FAQs

Is Teamwork Cloud the only backend compatible with the standard SysML v2 REST API ?

Teamwork Cloud is Dassault Systèmes' native server solution, fully conforming to the OMG SysML v2 API and Services specification. Other backends compliant with the standard can interact with models via this API, ensuring interoperability. CATIA Magic also adds proprietary extensions such as Model Evaluation services beyond the standard for advanced analysis capabilities.

Does MagicLab require a permanent connection to Teamwork Cloud, or can models be shared offline ?

MagicLab operates with direct access to Teamwork Cloud, there is no native offline snapshot mode within MagicLab itself. For sharing without a server connection, models can be published via export using CATIA Magic/Cameo desktop tools. MagicLab is designed for teams with access to the corporate network or cloud infrastructure.

Can CATIA SysML v2 be integrated into an existing CI/CD pipeline ?

Teamwork Cloud exposes a REST API fully conformant with the OMG SysML v2 API & Services specification. Scripts or CI/CD tools can create, edit, query, and evaluate model elements programmatically. CATIA Magic also adds proprietary extensions including Model Evaluation services accessible through the same API, enabling automated requirement checks or analyses to run at every commit.

 Can I synchronize SysML v2 models with DOORS Next Generation (DNG) ?

The DOORS Next (DNG) connector supports bidirectional synchronization changes made in DNG or in the SysML v2 model are propagated in both directions, with Declared Name and Documentation Body included in the standard mapping.
