News: ThyssenKrupp Steel Europe solves its supply chain puzzle with Quintiq
July 17, 2012 - ThyssenKrupp Steel Europe AG is one of the world's leaders in quality carbon steel flat products. The company's capabilities range from intelligent material solutions, to product-specific processing and comprehensive services, to finished steel parts and assemblies.
ThyssenKrupp Steel Europe is aiming to solve its currently problematic supply chain planning puzzle and optimize its supply chain processes with Quintiq, a specialist in Advanced Planning & Scheduling solutions. Quintiq successfully completed a proof of concept with the steel supplier last year.
The planning and scheduling software previously used by ThyssenKrupp Steel Europe provided a limited level of visibility of its supply chain planning processes. Consequently, ThyssenKrupp Steel Europe put together a list of requirements for an optimal, tailor-made planning software solution.
Quintiq had already impressed ThyssenKrupp Steel with the implementation of detailed planning at its plants in various other locations. After Quintiq provided another successful proof of concept, ThyssenKrupp Steel once again chose a Quintiq product called the Company Planner. This software solution will be able to take into account all relevant company regulations when optimizing the planning of product orders in the supply chain.
Every business has its supply chain planning challenges. Some of those challenges are large. Some are complex. Some seem impossible to solve. Since 1997, Quintiq has been solving each of those challenges with a supply chain planning & optimization software system. Today, approximately 12,000 users in over 80 countries rely on Quintiq software to plan and optimize workforces, logistics and production. Part of Dassault Systèmes (Euronext Paris: #13065, DSY.PA), Quintiq has offices in the Netherlands, the USA and around the world.
