Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE), November 16, 2009 - Khalifa University of Science, Technology and Research (KUSTAR) and Dassault Systèmes (DS) (Euronext Paris: #13065, DSY.PA), a world leader in 3D and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) solutions, announced today their partnership to develop cutting edge education and research activities at KUSTAR, using Dassault Systèmes PLM and 3D software for product innovation.
Going far beyond a simple software acquisition, the program includes various integrated content ranging from course material, continuing education of faculty, industry relationship, certification, student study tours, outreach projects and world class lectures and conferences provided by Dassault Systèmes global customers and partners in industry and academia.
Both partners also extended their alliance with the creation of a new research laboratory dedicated to innovation in the visual practices of engineering decision making, based at KUSTAR's campus in Abu Dhabi.

The program will start before the end of 2009.
Khalifa University of Science, Technology and Research (KUSTASR) was established in February 2007 by a decree issued by the UAE President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
KUSTAR’s main campus is located in Abu Dhabi, while it operates another campus in Sharjah. It presently offers bachelor, master, and doctorate degree programs in various areas of engineering and in the future, will offer degrees in five main disciplines: engineering, logistics management, health sciences, homeland security and sciences. KUSTAR is open to men and women from all nationalities with particular emphasis being placed on educating young UAE nationals.
An international Centre for Research & Development is being developed to ensure that research is an integral component of the University.
