Capvidia was established in 1994 with its headquarters in Leuven, Belgium. Today Capvidia employs over 60 highly skilled programmers, scientists and engineers located in offices in Belgium and Russia. It has sales and support offices in the US, Europe, Russia, Japan, China, Taiwan and a reseller network covering the entire world.

The name CapVidia is a combination of two words: "Capturing" and "Vidia." Vidia means "knowledge" in Sanskrit. It best describes the company's commitment to deliver software products capturing scientific and engineering knowledge.

FlowVision is a new generation CFD simulation environment (pre-/post processor and solver) designed for realistic CFD simulations. Combined with the SIMULIA Abaqus, FV offers an integrated solution for modeling heavily coupled fluid structure interaction problems (FSI). Unique and fully automatic grid generation implemented in FlowVision is based on sub-grid geometry resolution method. FlowVision imports the original CAD geometry without any simplifications. It provides exact automatic matching between FlowVision and Abaqus meshes for fluid-structure-interaction co-simulation. On-line monitoring and visualization system ensures full control during the simulation process. The Abaqus-FlowVision co-simulation approach was validated on the most complex industrial applications. It is successfully used in automotive (tire hydroplaning simulation), life science (human heart-valve operation), energy (wind turbine blade operational deflections), aerospace (flatter and wing deflection) and many other problems. The parallel solver is optimized for large problem size including simulation models exceeding 100 million cells. High level solver scalability allows using hundreds of processors. This results in shorter calculation times and more accurate results for heavy industrial problems including turbulence, conjugate heat transfer, radiation, mass transfer with chemical reactions and radioactive decay, combustion, multiphase flows with inter-phase tracking.
