Product Overview

ENOVIA - VPM Electrical Cable Route Management (ECV) manages and gathers all the necessary information for cable routing definition and validation processes. It handles the large amount of electrical diagrams, equipments and cableways required by large projects of shipbuilding and plant design.
It drastically improves the usage of CATIA - Electrical Cableway Routing 2 (ECR) for cable routing definition and validation on large electrical 2D and 3D cableway network with full concurent engineering capabilities. It provides a comprehensive 3D environment for cable routing with large, scalable multiple cableway 3D networks extracted from product definition. It enhances decision support for routing process with advanced path finding and validation rules, enabled by the unified access to all. ECV also allow concurrent access and design of cable route data where multiple users can use the same network to route cables, with full visibility of the cable routes that are being created by other users.

Product Highlights

Product Key Customer Benefits

Manage large electrical 2D and 3D networks A unique aspect required from shipbuilding and plant design industries, relative to electrical design, is the magnitude of the number of diagrams, electrical components and cableways for these large projects. ENOVIA - VPM Electrical Cable Route Management (ECV) enables to manage this complexity, by providing to the engineer, a unified access and management for all the necessary information for efficient cable routing processes. ENOVIA - VPM Electrical Cable Route Management (ECV) enable engineers to extract only the necessary information required for cable routing from the product definition and export this light content into a dedicated electrical database in ENOVIA. ENOVIA - VPM Electrical Cable Route Management (ECV) is available in the single desktop environment provided by ENOVIA VPM Navigator (VPN) and takes benefit of access, navigation and management tools to extract and control cable route information.

Optimize customer work flow for cable routing in a full concurrent work environment ENOVIA - VPM Electrical Cable Route Management (ECV) allows multiple users to access and route through the same cableway network without modifying the 3D design data. All engineers share this light and unified cable route information in parallel of product definition. Multidiscipline collaboration is strengthened by a full concurent work for cable routing that allows both electrical outfitting definition and cable routing by multiple engineers. It transforms sequential tasks into a parallel processes where design issues or routing conflicts are uncovered and resolved immediately.

Support customer process with full or partial cable routing through large and multiple cable way networks Engineers take benefit of the unified electrical information, managed by ENOVIA - VPM Electrical Cable Route Management (ECV) directly when using CATIA - Electrical Cableway Routing 2 (ECR), based on their practices already in place. Complex cableway networks are optimized to handle the large amount of necessary information when routing cables in shipbuilding and plant design. It always gives to the engineers a real time, complete and comprehensive network to define cable routing. Moreover, it allows partial routing even if the design is not complete.

Find and validate the best solution for cable routing through cableway networks Unified electrical information enhances drastically cable routing process and its validation by providing all the necessary decision information to the engineers in order to design right the first time. For instance, cables length is optimized to find the shortest path, including additional checks, such as cable minimum bending radius or water tight hangers defined in the cableways. In addition, all users have the visibility of the cable routes that are being created by other users: Percent fill in the network is managed concurrently. Engineers are always informed to invalid routes due to other users using the network to route cables with a visual feedback showing cableway network bottle neck and overloaded conditions.
