# Dassault Systèmes Newsletter for the Volkswagen Group

December 2021

(Volkswagen Group Newsletter) Dear Reader,

the end of Q4 is approaching and with it, the end of another year. Despite these challenging times, we can all look back to a successful year, in which many lessons were learned - we have outgrown ourselves, by always challenging the status quo.

With exciting occasions like the first virtual **“CAMEO User Day”** hosted together with Audi in November and the virtual **VW TE Partner Forum** we achieved to stay in close contact with you – with a safe distance. My team and I enjoyed the exciting discussions about topics such as **Systems Engineering** and or how State-Of-The-Art technologies from our **CATIA portfolio** could further develop mechanical design. Going ahead in 2022, we will continue to bring more inspiring content in order to always discuss the latest technologies with you. Stay tuned!

Before starting the holiday season, I would like to present to you some noteworthy topics curated by me:

- As the effects of climate change continues to deepen, the need to transform the way we work increases. We show you a virtual twin strategy that ensures an end-to-end sustainable mobility
- Interesting assets around the topic Battery engineering
- 10 reasons how CATIA gives Engineers an advantage
- DELMIA Quintiq deployed by car manufacturer to improve Production planning
- For our German readers: VDI podcast about about why Systems Engineering is a key success factor

I wish you and your families a very happy holiday season and a safe start in 2022!

Road transportation accounted for **12% of global greenhouse gas emissions in 2020**. This doesn’t include the impact from production, only the vehicle use. There’s an enormous opportunity for sustainable innovation in the mobility space, which can be enabled and accelerated by technology. The innovation ranges from researching new recyclable and lightweight materials to simulating new forms of batteries in virtual environments.
