# Aerospace & Defense Newsletter

(A&D October Newsletter) Welcome to the Dassault Systèmes newsletter for Aerospace & Defense Industry

Dear Readers,

**The future of Aviation** has never been so full of both challenges and opportunities. Public opinion, governments and the industry recognized that **sustainability** will play a cornerstone role in the development of the future aviation. If it is too early to say, which exact technologies will win the race, we already observe significant investments in **hydrogen, hybrid and/or electric propulsion** as an example.

Furthermore, while the concrete impact of **Advanced Air Mobility** and **eVTOLs** on air travel and air transport are still unclear, the seeds to revolution short haul flights are already present. The same way data dramatically changed the way we use smartphones, the same way Advanced Air Mobility might revolutionize short haul aviation.

And this is directly related to the topic of **Systems of Systems**. While complex engineering development originates from the military world, we will see in civilian projects always more and more usage of **Model Based Systems Engineering** tools and methods to tackle data fusion and put in place smart marketplaces ranging from air transport to data coming from nanosatellites constellations. The **Future of Aviation** will definitely a place where **Space meets Aviation**!
