The [**Aerospace and Defense**](https://www.3ds.com/industries/aerospace-defense) industry requires a constant influx of highly **skilled engineers** who can think critically and collaborate effectively. To meet this demand, leading academic institutions like ISAE-SUPAERO from ISAE Group must bridge the gap between classroom theory and real-world industrial application. In 2023, ISAE Group signed a strategic academic partnership with Dassault Systèmes, aiming at bridging that gap. And, by integrating the **3D**EXPERIENCE platform into its curricula, ISAE-SUPAERO provides its students with the tools and experience necessary to succeed, fostering a new generation of [**industry-ready innovators**](https://3ds.com/edu/education/students).
At **International Paris Air Show 2025**, ISAE Group meets up with aerospace industries’ leaders and academic institutions to highlight the **next generation of aerospace talent** and how they collectively prepare them to thrive in today’s world. It was also an opportunity to reveal the university partners of **AEROSEC European consortium**, which unites **top universities and industry players** to tackle tomorrow’s challenges in Aerospace and Defense.

A primary challenge for engineering education is ensuring students graduate with practical skills that meet current industry standards. Theoretical exercises, disconnected from industrial realities, fall short of preparing students for the collaborative and complex projects they will face in their careers.
ISAE-SUPAERO recognized the need for a solution that could provide students with an environment mirroring that of leading aerospace companies. The institution needed a way to move beyond isolated exercises and place students directly into an industrial context. "It's very important that our future engineers learn how to use the tools that they will be using when they enter the job market", says Marie-Hélène Baroux, President of ISAE-Group.

The integration of the **3D**EXPERIENCE platform has produced significant benefits for ISAE students and faculty, improving both their [technical skills](https://3ds.com/edu/skills) and professional readiness.
According to Nour Mermouri, an apprentice at Airbus Defence and Space and a student at ISAE-SUPAERO, the platform provides direct, applicable experience. "The project that we’ve been working on within the **3D**EXPERIENCE platform helps me in my current job and also for my future career," she says. "Working with it at school helped me develop new skills."
The platform’s cloud-based nature also enhances teamwork. Romain Bidault, a student at ISAE-SUPEARO found that it transformed collaborative projects. "Thanks to the **3D**EXPERIENCE platform, it was easier to work as a team, since we have all the parts on the cloud, and it's really easy to discuss with other team members and get an overall view of the project," he says. This experience has boosted his self-confidence. "I am more confident to enter the job market."

ISAE Group adopted the **3D**EXPERIENCE platform to create a comprehensive and immersive learning environment. The platform serves as a central hub for design, simulation, data management and collaboration, allowing students and teachers to work within a **unified digital ecosystem**.
ISAE-SUPAERO adopts a [**skills-based teaching approach**](https://3ds.com/edu/education/academics). "We provide our students hands-on experience in an industrial environment, and for this, the **3D**EXPERIENCE platform plays a key role," says Thomas Zamolo, a Teacher and Head of engineering platforms at ISAE-SUPAERO.
[**Students** ](https://3ds.com/edu/education/students)can now work on projects from initial concept to final simulation, within one platform. "Students can create their own design and use them directly in simulation, applications, and they can do kinematics, solid, fluid and dynamics simulations in a very short time," says Jérémie Peyras, a teacher and project manager at ISAE-SUPMECA.
From a teaching perspective, the platform simplifies project oversight and data sharing. "We can bookmark student data and share it between teachers and students, and even between teachers and industrials," Peyras explains. Zamolo adds that students learn to communicate in a professional environment using a shared **virtual twin**, developing [**soft skills**](https://3ds.com/edu/skills) **alongside technical expertise**.
