AURA, LEO and MARIE are autonomous industrial agents natively integrated into the 3DEXPERIENCE platform. AURA covers business functions, LEO engineering and manufacturing, MARIE science. You express an intent in natural language - with a photo, scan, drawing, or file if needed - and they reason, plan and carry out the work, rather than simply answering it.

Virtual Companions cover the full **3D**EXPERIENCE portfolio: aerospace, automotive, life sciences, energy, consumer goods and more.

How are Virtual Companions different from a chatbot or a copilot?

The difference is a matter of degree of autonomy. A chatbot follows a predefined script and answers a question. Our Virtual Companions go further: they build their own plan of action on the fly—with no predefined workflow, act on your behalf and can run continuously, for example monitoring a production line 24/7.

Who can use a Virtual Companion?

Will you train your models with my data?

No. Your engineering data remains your property. Our Companions consult your patrimony (data, design rules, history) to assist you, but it is never used to train a shared model. If you choose to specialize a model with your data, the result lives exclusively within your own environment.

How can I trust the results Virtual Companions produce?

Every result is grounded in physics-based and science-based models—figures like stresses,tolerances and safety margins are calculated, not simply estimated by a statistical model. Every step of a Companion's reasoning is also documented and available for review, making the result verifiable and auditable.

What technology do Virtual Companions run on?

They rely on Industry World Models—proprietary AI models built on three components that work together:

- “Orchestration &amp; reasoning”: LLMs orchestrate our agents and tools, breaking down complex industrial objectives into tasks coordinated across simulation, generative design and design-of-experiments engines.
- “Industrial knowledge”: decades of engineering expertise—design methods, regulatory standards, process methodologies—virtualized and made available at scale, so expert know-how doesn't leave with retirements.
- “Industrial world understanding”: rather than pattern recognition on web text, our models operate on an ecosystem of geometric and physical 3D models, sharing a common semantic layer that keeps outputs physically accurate and industrially usable.

The difference with a chatbot is simple: in industry, "plausible" isn't enough—an answer has to be correct, certifiable and reproducible. Industry World Models are built to keep everything they generate consistent with the real constraints of the industrial world, before anything physically exists.

Do Virtual Companions replace engineers?

No. Virtual Companions are designed to work side by side with engineers, augmenting their skills rather than replacing them. They can handle complex, repetitive and lower-value tasks with consistency and precision, while engineers remain in control. LEO, for example, can generate usable 3D CAD models, flag violations of parameters, regulations and constraints and validate whether parts are performant and manufacturable.

By accelerating these tasks, Virtual Companions help engineers learn faster, explore more possibilities and focus their time on creative, strategic and high-value work. The technology is a tool; responsibility for how it is used remains with the human engineer.

Where is my data hosted and how is it secured?

Your data is hosted in the geographic region and Cloud operating model selected for your service, based on your regulatory requirements, sovereignty expectations and sensitive data protection needs. Depending on the offering, this may include an International, Sovereign or Dedicated Cloud environment deployment.

The Companion’s intensive computations run in dedicated AI factories. All data exchanges are encrypted and protected through continuous network monitoring, identity and access controls and threat detection.

Where supported by the service architecture, data used for AI computation is processed transiently and is not retained in the AI factory after processing. These technical and architectural safeguards protect your data throughout its lifecycle. Applicable certifications and hosting conditions are specified for each service and region.

How do I unlock my Virtual Companions?

Virtual Companions run on Blue Tokens, which behave like credits and are consumed as users interact with them. Blue token consumption reflects the value delivered.

- Simple tasks: insights, annotations, basic sketches, require minimal effort and consume few Blue Tokens
- Complex tasks: detailed drawings, assembly structures, require greater computing resources and consume more Blue Tokens

This value-based model means Blue Tokens track real engineering productivity, not just usage.

Administrators of the **3D**EXPERIENCE platform can monitor Blue Token consumption in the Platform Management dashboard within the Members Control Center app.
