DELMIA - Digital Numerical Control Connector (DCC)

The goal of Digital Numerical Control Connector (DCC) is to combine machine programs with work instructions, data collection, buyoffs, documents, tools, etc. as they relate to a particular task. This combination eliminates the possibility that the wrong machine program will be used and assures that the shop floor worker has all the information they need in one place to efficiently perform their task.

Product Overview

There are cases where Operations Execution users work on tasks that require a product to be built, tested, or inspected using a machine. The specific function the machine performs for that given task is usually defined by a machine program that the worker has to download to the machine. Digital Numerical Control Connector (DCC) is an add-on feature to the Operations Execution product that allows users to download machine programs to a machine or upload and store machine programs from a machine. The combination of Operations Execution with DCC assures that machines run the correct programs for the task being worked.

Machine Management
Administrative users are able to define machine properties that determine how a machine works with a given machine program type, and they are able to determine where the machine is located within the manufacturing facility.
Value: Limits user error and effort by presetting repeatable functions for each machine program type and controls which machines are available for a given task based on where the task is assigned.

Machine Program Management
Administrative users are able to determine which machine programs are available for use by machine or groups of machines. In addition, these administrators are provided tools to manage user permissions for each unique machine program type.
Value: Eliminates the possibility that the end user will download the incorrect program to a machine which could damage the machine or the product.

Operations Execution users are able to download a machine program to a machine when the machine program is assigned to the task they are working on.
Value: Eliminates the need for the user to browse through thousands of machine programs and assures they can only download the machine program associated to the product or process task they are working on.

Upload Document
Operations Execution users are able to upload a machine program from a machine when the machine program is assigned to the task they are working on. If the user has the required permission they are also allowed to overwrite the assigned machine program with the program uploaded from the machine.
Value: Provides a way to save machine programs that might have been modified from the machine after a download.
