Flow Simulation in Life-sciences Applications

Fluid flow simulation is a key component in most life-sciences applications; it has found interest in pharmaceutical, medical devices industries and patient care.

In this webinar, we will explore the various fluid flow solutions available within Dassault Systemes’ SIMULIA software suite for Life Sciences applications. In particular, we will focus on how Lattice Boltzmann based Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) software (XFlow) can be leveraged to address fluid flow simulations.

We will also discuss how XFlow can be coupled to our Finite Element structure solver (Abaqus) to perform Fluid Structure Interaction (FSI) simulations to address applications where fluid flow past compliant & moving objects/structures, such as heart valves, tissues, etc., becomes important.

Dr. Ramji KAMAKOTI | Senior Solution Consultant

Dr. Ramji KAMAKOTI is a Senior Solution Consultant at Dassault Systemes and has been with the company for 9 years. He has over 20 years of research/work experience in the field of computational sciences, including computational fluid dynamics (CFD), Fluid-Structure Interaction (FSI) and Multi physics in general. He currently serves as the Life Sciences Industry Technical Lead and is responsible for all technical sales related activities for life sciences and other industries. He earned his Ph.D. from the University of Florida and is currently based in Minneapolis, MN.
