Design a point-supported glass structure that is capable of withstanding not only normal design loads but also the extra loads, incurred in the case of a pane failure, in order to prevent the collapse of the entire structure.
Stutzki Engineering uses SIMULIA’s Abaqus Finite Element Analysis to compute the design loads on each pane of glass in the event of both normal loading conditions and failure loading conditions. With the help of Python scripting, engineers at Stutzki Engineering are able to automatically run multiple permutations and combinations of load cases.
Using Abaqus FEA allows the engineers at Stutzki Engineering to visualize load distribution throughout panes of glass that they otherwise would be unable to see, allowing them to make well-informed design decisions and structurally sound buildings.
