The Corporate Global Networking team is responsible for the design, development, build and operation of the Medidata voice and data networks and infrastructure that connect our offices to our customers. In doing all this, we rely on the most current techniques in network hardware and software, traffic engineering, and network management to deliver unprecedented scale, availability, and performance.

Medidata is looking for a seasoned Sr. Network Engineer that has a passion for technology to be a part of the Enterprise Network Engineering Team. Solid understanding of Solarwinds, Nimbus or any other monitoring applications
Capable of Installing, Maintaining and troubleshooting Palo Alto Firewalls.
Capable of maintaining and troubleshooting Cisco Network equipment, and Wireless infrastructure.
Strong performance tuning and capacity planning experience; u trending analysis, network optimization
Ability to design/architect and implement Routing/Switching Protocols utilizing Cisco Routers and Switches
Senior Network Engineers are responsible for maintaining a company's computer network and providing technical support and guidance to other departments members of the network team and our customers Medidata employees.
Typical duties include collaborating with other technical groups within the organization and solutioning end user issues, implementing network systems, determining necessary hardware, and ensuring network security.
Contribute to and share ownership of tasks relating to planning, designing, implementation and operation of Medidata internal corporate infrastructure.
Create/maintain/improve network support documentation and processes.
Recommend and perform upgrades on systems to ensure uptime.
Business Continuity Planning and responding to Disaster Recovery events.
Ensure the infrastructure is properly monitored within set thresholds and that alerts regarding network outages are addressed in a timely manner.
Achieve all SLAs: functionality, availability, performance and security: VPNs, Wireless, and LAN/WAN.
Troubleshoot and repair network-related problems, system failures, switching/routing, etc.
Identify/diagnose network configuration and/or performance irregularities. Develop procedures to respond to these irregularities in a timely manner.
Provide timely issue resolutions by evaluating, tracking, escalating, managing of all requests/problems reported.
Assists with creation/maintenance of customer service SLAs.
Collaborate with Operations staff and others as required to resolve infrastructure operations.
Actively participate in scheduled “Off-Hours”, “Weekend Work” and “On-Call Rotation Shifts” to provide 24x7 support.
Requirements (Education & Experience):
Senior Network Engineer, essential qualifications include analytical thinking, leadership, attention to details, organization, teamwork, and network management experience.
Normally would require a Bachelor's degree, preferably in Computer Science; or equivalent years of training, certifications and experience.
Understanding of Cloud technologies, Network Security in a Multi Tenancy Environment.
Understanding AWS is a plus
Understanding of Software Defined Networking (SDWAN) and associated Technologies ( Fortinet)
The salary range posted below refers only to positions that will be physically based in New York City. As with all roles, Medidata sets ranges based on a number of factors including function, level, candidate expertise and experience, and geographic location. Pay ranges for candidates in locations other than New York City, may differ based on the local market data in that region. The base salary pay range for this position is $114,750 to $153,000.
Base pay is one part of the Total Rewards that Medidata provides to compensate and recognize employees for their work. Most sales positions are eligible for a commission under the terms of applicable plan documents, while many of Medidata’s non-sales positions are eligible for annual bonuses.
