Your Mission:

The Acorn AI Data Operations team is looking for a smart, driven Senior Manager to help drive our analytic solutions, enabling Acorn AI customers to efficiently design, plan and execute their clinical trials. This role will interface with data curators, product owners, data science engineers and business leaders to solve large, exciting challenges in the clinical trial data and technology space. The ultimate measure of success will be the establishment of scalable systems and processes  to manage and enhance our data, creating data-driven solutions and focus on continuous improvement in Data Operations.


Your Commitments:

  • We are looking for an experienced manager to oversee and manage on- and offshore teams and coordinate successful delivery of projects.  As a Sr. Manager, Data Operations you will evaluate and implement the right processes and practices, formulate strategies aimed at improving quality and performance, and coordinate resources to ensure on-time, on-budget project delivery. 

  • You should be ready to mentor and motivate your team and be an advocate for training and professional development.  

  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders including data SMEs, product management, technical services, data science and delivery teams, to understand key project requirements.

  • Define project goals and objectives with stakeholders. Prepare estimates, develop project plans and manage scope, monitor progress, identify and resolve impediments.

  • Evaluate systems and operating models to identify areas for efficiency and continuous improvement and implement data solutions based on business priorities and technology initiatives.

  •  Develop key messaging, presentations and communication material for cross-functional audiences. 


Your Competencies:


Must have(s)...

  • Supervisory experience developing and leading high performing teams

  • Ability to manage and motivate teams of varying skills and levels

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and attention to detail; able to interact effectively and persuasively with a variety of audiences

  • Experience in the clinical research space including knowledge of clinical concepts, data sources and state of the industry

  •  Solid understanding of data-driven problem solving and ability to balance timing for analysis, execution and delivery

  • Demonstrated creative problem solving, analytical and organizational skills

  • Results-driven, data-driven, entrepreneurial, and action-oriented

  • Self-starter, comfortable with ambiguity, able to define and execute against work plans


Nice to have(s) but not required…

  • Experience with life science, data ontologies including medical diagnosis and procedure coding vocabularies (e.g. UMLS, HL-7, SNOMED, ICD-10, CPT)  

  • Familiarity with analytics and business intelligence concepts such as data models, programming, statistical modeling, machine learning, data visualization

  • Proficiency in Agile principles and methodologies and working knowledge of Atlassian product suite (e.g. JIRA, Confluence)


Your Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in life science, project management, business management or related fields

  • Minimum of 7 years of related or equivalent work experience while also working in a supervisory capacity
