Your Mission:

Medidata Global Education is the functional group within Customer Success & Solutions that focuses on Medidata product enablement, as well as clinical industry training, for customers, partners, and colleagues.

The Manager of Global Education Core Curriculum & Framework will catalyze the transformation of our customer learning experiences through the definition, development, integration, and agile curation of Medidata’s core curriculum, learning personas/roles, learning paths, learning content models and templates, and learner use cases.   

This Global Education leadership role will interact with internal and external stakeholders across the organization to align results with Medidata objectives, increase the value of Medidata global education, and continuously improve the learning experiences for our customers.

This Manager brings best-in-class global education core curriculum and framework design expertise, along with a partnering spirit and an exemplary work ethic, capable of thorough planning and efficient delivery of timely, competitive, extensible, and implementation-ready core curriculum and framework components.

The results will immediately be applied by our team of Learning Solution Designers and leveraged to support internal education and enablement initiatives across our Optimization & Enablement, Training Delivery, and Professional Services teams.

This role is positioned out of our New York office; requires the ability to travel between the east coast offices as needed (NYC and Iselin, NJ).

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with product owners and other technical stakeholders to define, develop, and deliver the core curriculum and framework components that drive our Medidata Global Education activity and enable customer success

  • Coordinate development collaboration and consensus agreement for the core curriculum and framework components that are developed and distributed

  • Work with our global teams to validate and ensure universal implementation of materials and global customer value factors

  • Define and maintain easily accessible channels to these core curriculum and framework set of materials, and continuously map/report value. Train others in their effective use.

  • Establish measures for the baseline value mapping and iterative reporting of these core curriculum components

  • Assist with the development of new programs based on these core curriculum and framework components

  • Join in partnership with other education, enablement, and training professionals to deliver integrated and effective core curriculum and framework components and support associated training initiatives aligned with organizational strategies and objectives.

  • Develop core curriculum, framework components and learner requirements for education and training curricula, courses, learning content, and complimentary materials through close partnership with peers, colleagues, and company SMEs.

  • On a continuous learning basis, integrate voice-of-the-customer (VOC) feedback into requirements and outcomes.

  • Learn and maintain the Medidata product knowledge required to develop impactful education and training materials used by Medidata customers, partners, and employees. As required, author/conduct courses.

  • Fulfill assignments in the form of objectives with goals and the process by which to meet goals.

  • Coordinate and support agile core curriculum and framework development practices and the standard cadence of review of work to measure/ensure quality, output, and impact of targeted objectives.

  • Proactively monitor operational processes, and identify/assess issues using associated data to quickly develop and execute solutions.

  • Exercise judgment within defined procedures and policies to determine appropriate action and avoid erroneous decisions or failure to achieve results that can diminish the quality of deliverables or cause delays in targeted delivery.

  • Establish strong partnerships and interactions with subordinate supervisors, functional peer groups, company SMEs, and other stakeholders. Gain the cooperation of others.

  • Develop and conduct workstreams, working teams, and work groups to enable the successful delivery of targeted outcomes.

  • Develop and execute real-time status reporting and presentations, including technical information, regarding scope of work, specific projects, or schedules.

  • Acts as trusted advisor to manager and CSS unit/sub-units; contribute, as required, to meet targets, innovate, and resolve problems.

Your Competencies:

  • Exceptional, accountable, proactive leader

  • Excellent knowledge of curriculum development, learning theories and instructional design models, information mapping, persona development, learning path development

  • Skills and expertise in technical lesson and curriculum planning, video learning and development, eLearning/blended learning/ILT course content development

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to learn and understand software products and write structured course content in a consistent fashion, using content models and adhering to established governance models

  • Excellent partnership, peer-peer collaboration, and organizational/time management skills

  • Self-motivated, able to assume responsibility and work autonomously in a professional manner

  • Ability to understand and communicate concepts quickly and accurately

  • Experience with International English, JIRA/Confluence agile practices, and localization readiness

  • Experience working with Agile Software development teams

  • Must be able to work within tight deadlines in a fast-paced, software development environment

  • SaaS experience is a plus.

Your Education and Experience:

  • Master’s degree or equivalent years of experience in Instructional Design, Core Curriculum Development, and/or Core Education Framework Design

  • 3-5 years of experience in global, technical, core curriculum development and framework development/management in a software technology organization (life sciences industry or clinical education curriculum/framework development is preferred)

  • Demonstrated expertise in the development and curation of technical curricula, technical personas/roles, and learning path maintenance in the context of enabling customer success and driving business growth

  • Working knowledge of instructional design, methodology, and creation, as well as learner skills assessments and enablement strategies

  • Successful at building strong relationships with colleagues, stakeholders, executive management, and clients

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills as well as commitment to quality

  • Strong operational expertise in designing and delivering best-in-class, scalable results

  • Experience in detailed process development and documentation, and metrics development/management

  • Experience as a global, corporate, technical Instructional Designer/Trainer with relevant curricula/courseware development experience

  • Agile software development team experience required

  • Proficient in Captivate, Storyline 2, PhotoShop, Google Suite

  • Knowledge of SCORM and LMS (specifically, Thought Industries)
