What your role will be?
Physics validation for SIMULIA PowerFLOW product is an integral part of SIMULIA Fluids Research & Development team, a world class group of researchers in the fields of Lattice Boltzmann and Turbulence Modeling. SIMULIA PowerFLOW suite of innovative software simulation products impacts how Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) is used in many industrial settings worldwide. We work on the verification and validation of PowerFLOW CFD products for its accuracy, robustness and performance for CFD applications in ground transportation, aerospace, oil-gas, etc. …
In this role as a physics validation intern, you will work with SIMULIA Fluids R&D team (physics development and validation staff), and interact with other product development members on the development and validation of commercial CFD software SIMULIA PowerFLOW, 3DS’s flagship CFD product. You will also need to support related CFD applications globally. You will receive training and be expected to become a proficient user of SIMULIA PowerFLOW, and its related pre- and post-analysis tools.
This is a paid internship spanning 6-months, to begin in spring 2023. This position is based at the Dassault Systemes Office at 175 Wyman St, Waltham, MA.
The Challenges ahead
You will learn to work in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple tasks and assignments.
You will perform literature review on selected topics and summarize findings, set up numerical tests for CFD benchmark, develop codes/scripts to automate simulation and analysis jobs, research specific phenomena and report findings to the physics team.
You will provide assistance to R&D staff for various development and validation needs by performing numerical benchmarks and detailed data analysis, and presenting results in a timely manner.
You will participate in validation for PowerFLOW thermal solver. Collaborate with industry processing teams on the application cases using the new features.
You will have the opportunity to expand to other technical development domains depending on candidate’s ability and performance.
