In the Fluids group at our Johnston office in SIMULIA, we have a world-class group of researchers who develop fluids solver capabilities using DevOps techniques and tools to integrate and test our modifications. The use of DevOps enables quicker delivery of new functionality to our customers.

This is a paid internship spanning 6-months, to begin 2023.  This position is based at the Dassault Systemes Office at 1301 Atwood Ave in Johnston, RI.

What will your role be?

In the past few years, we have rapidly added releases and features to the Fluids solver on the 3DEXPERIENCE platform. As a Fluids Validation Intern, you will work with the SIMULIA Fluids R&D team in Johnston to improve DevOps capabilities and tools to assist developer productivity and improve product robustness.  As part of this internship you will gain experience working with software in a production environment with a combination of industry standard tools and legacy systems.

Challenges ahead

  • Working in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple tasks and assignments
  • Creating and enhancing DevOps tools for building software and detecting testing regressions.
  • Build and enhance tools to bridge industry standard tools to legacy systems.
  • Build informative dashboards for reporting software build and testing status.
  • Trim outdated software module dependencies to optimize software build time and size.
  • Desired candidate profile

    • Enrolled in a Master's or PhD Degree program in Computer Science or Engineering.
    • Experience with DevOps and programming tools: Git, Docker, Gitlab, Eclipse, VS Code
    • Proficiency in one or more programming languages: Python, C++, Java, JavaScript
    • Experience with web programming and tools
    • Experience working with HPC tools and concepts
