The Manager, Business Development is responsible for directly supporting a team of Business Development Specialists in identifying and qualifying sales opportunities. Responsibilities include coaching and managing your team so that they exceed their quotas, taking on special projects to support the upleveling of the overall Business Development team, and working very closely with our Marketing & Sales teams.
Support US Business Development Specialists in achieving quarterly lead generation goal
Mentor and coach team members
Maintain and update Business Development plans, account and opportunity data within company systems as directed
Ensure maintenance of records of correspondence in CRM tool, coordinate with Sales Operations on CRM system
Represent Medidata Solutions in a manner consistent with company business principles and ethics
Coordinate cross functionally with other teams in support of the planning and execution of demand and lead generation programs
Demonstrated consistent track record in exceeding sales targets
Demonstrated consistent tenacity and drive to achieve goals
Ability to conduct market level analyses to identify opportunities, and develop and execute acquisition strategy
Strong application software sales experience
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proven success in a fast-paced and demanding environment
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Your Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree required; or equivalent years of experience.
Requires a minimum of 1 year of experience managing a team of 6-8 people.
