What will your role be?

Act as a sales business partner by providing guidance and support for structuring, negotiating and closing large and complex software and services transactions.

  • Understanding and contributing to the pipeline of software business opportunities in Japan
  • Providing recommendations to mitigate legal, business and revenue recognition risks in closure of our software business
  • Ensuring involvement of, and required approvals are in place from, DS stakeholders at local or global level.  
  • Maximizing revenue and customer satisfaction, with safe closure to long-term DS goals in a role of creativity and problem solving

There is a need in any large organisation for a role that can operate as a specialist in situations of customer and supplier negotiation.  DS created the Deal Value Engineer for that purpose.

This is a role that is able to breakdown contractual T&C’s in a way that is explainable, creating logical pathways to solve Customer contract negotiations, and bring appropriate information to the relevant DS decision makers in order to move forward.

This role is focussed on Japan business, engaging primarily with strategic and complex software business cases, naturally placing it in high touch with all large revenue driving accounts within Japan.

Your key success factors

  • Experience with business negotiation and contracts is preferred
  • Background in a position with strong problem solving requirements – ideally a position in Contract Management, Pricing, Legal or Sales
  • Experience in software, IT or high tech industry is preferable
  • Experiences with multi-national, complex and cross-functional environments is preferable
