# Dassault Systèmes Impact Report

The 2025 Dassault Systèmes Impact Report highlights our sustainability strategy, ESG performance and measurable impact across our operations and customer ecosystem. Discover how virtual twins, AI and the Generative Economy help industries imagine, test and optimize more sustainable products, operations and business models.

Why Sustainability Impact Matters

Our purpose—**to provide businesses and people with virtual universes to imagine** [**sustainable innovations**](/sustainability "Unleashing Sustainable Innovation") **capable of harmonizing product, nature and life**—recently took on renewed relevance through the launch of [**3D UNIV+RSES**](/insights/3d-universes "3D UNIV+RSES: The New Value Equation for Your Business"). By combining [**virtual twins**](/virtual-twin "Virtual Twin Experiences")**, modeling and simulation, real-world data** and **generative AI**, we enable organizations to imagine, test and optimize solutions before they exist physically.

We are translating this commitment into **measurable contributions**, presented throughout this Impact Report, through a [sustainability strategy](/about/corporate-responsibility/sustainability-commitment "Our Sustainability Commitment") built on **three key dimensions: maximizing our positive impact for clients, minimizing our own operational footprint** and **strengthening our human capital**.

At Dassault Systèmes, we are advancing sustainable innovation as a foundation for **business resilience**. Our 2025 Impact Report is the lens that brings these efforts into focus, from meeting the strongest carbon footprint standards and achieving our own ambitious reduction objectives, to delivering **measurable, quantified impact** and value across our entire ecosystem.

Our Sustainability Strategy and 2025 Highlights

Sustainability Governance

The Company’s governance ensures that **sustainability is embedded at all levels of the organization**, with equal commitment to both our footprint and handprint strategies. Sustainability is managed across three levels of the organization.

**• Board level:** [The Board of Directors](/about/company/leadership "Leadership") oversees the Company’s sustainability strategy, **led by** a dedicated Director for Sustainability Development. Its committees—including the Scientific, Audit and Compensation Committees—integrate sustainability into their respective remits.

**• Executive oversight:** The EVP Strategy, Industry Marketing & Transformation holds operational responsibility, while the Chief Sustainability Officer, supported by the Global Sustainability Team, coordinates quarterly Sustainability Steering Committee meetings. The CEO and CFO participate annually to validate strategic priorities.

**• Operational networks:** Cross-functional departments and employee networks drive sustainability initiatives across the organization.

Net Zero Roadmap

[![SBTi logo](https://www.3ds.com/assets/invest/inline-images/sbti-logo.jpg)](https://www.3ds.com/assets/invest/inline-images/sbti-logo.jpg)

Dassault Systèmes has **achieved its first SBTi targets ahead of their 2027 deadline** and has now set new SBTi-validated targets to reach **net-zero greenhouse gas emissions across its value chain by 2050**.

This new validation marks an important evolution of our climate roadmap. Dassault Systèmes had previously announced a carbon neutrality ambition for 2040, before the SBTi Corporate Net-Zero Standard established a more detailed framework for corporate net-zero commitments. Our new targets translate this ambition into a science-based roadmap aligned with the latest SBTi criteria, with a stronger focus on value chain decarbonization and Scope 3 emissions.

The next phase of our roadmap focuses on **further reducing Scope 1 and 2 emissions, accelerating Scope 3 decarbonization**—including emissions from the use of sold products—and **supporting customers' sustainable transformation** through virtual twins and the **3D**EXPERIENCE platform.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is an Impact Report?

An Impact Report explains how an organization creates positive environmental, social and economic value through its business activities. It highlights the actions, commitments and measurable outcomes that demonstrate the organization's impact on people, society and the environment.

Unlike a traditional Sustainability Report or ESG Report, an Impact Report not only tracks performance and commitments but also showcases how a company's products, services and innovations contribute to solving real-world challenges and driving sustainable progress.

What is the difference between an ESG Report and an Impact Report?

While these two documents often overlap and are sometime used interchangeably, they serve distict purposes.

An ESG Report looks primarily inward, measuring how well a company manages Environmental, Social, and Governance risks against standardized criteria. It's metrics-driven and compliance-oriented, written primarily for investors and regulators who want comparable, verifiable data aligned with frameworks like CSRD, ISSB, or GRI.

A Sustainability Impact Report, while highlighting internal achievements, also looks outward, telling the story of the real-world change created for for key stakeholders in a company’s ecosystem. It is framed around mission and contributions to goals such as the UN SDGs.

In short, an ESG report measures performance and accountability, while an impact report measures contribution and outcomes. An ESG Report focuses on how a company manages its Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) performance. It typically includes policies, risks, governance, compliance and measurable indicators related to sustainability.

Is an Impact Report the same as a Sustainability Report?

No. While the terms are often used interchangeably, an **Impact Report** goes beyond a traditional **Sustainability Report** by highlighting not only a company's environmental, social and governance (ESG) performance, but also the measurable impact of its products, services and innovations on customers, society and the environment.

At Dassault Systèmes, our **Impact Report** combines sustainability performance, ESG commitments and measurable business impact. It showcases how our virtual twins, AI and collaborative innovation help industries accelerate sustainable transformation while advancing our own corporate responsibility and climate commitments.

How does Dassault Systèmes measure sustainability impact?

Dassault Systèmes measures impact in two directions through its three strategic pillars: the Handprint looks outward at the positive impact our solutions create for customers and the world, while the Footprint and Human Capital pillars look inward at the Company’s own operations, culture and people.

This dual view is backed by concrete, time bound targets that are independently audited and recognized by leading ESG ratings agencies.

What are Dassault Systèmes' Net Zero targets?

Dassault Systèmes has set SBTi-validated science-based targets to achieve net-zero greenhouse gas emissions across its value chain by 2050. Its near-term targets include reducing absolute Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 65.0% by 2035 from a 2024 base year, and reducing Scope 3 greenhouse gas emissions intensity by 66.33% per euro value added within the same timeframe.

How do virtual twins support sustainability?

Our portfolio of Virtual Twin Experiences includes over 300 purpose-built solutions across the Manufacturing Industries, Life Sciences & Healthcare, and Infrastructure & Cities sectors. These solutions help organizations reduce emissions, optimize the use of materials and energy, and design products for more circular lifecycles to deliver measurable impacts.
