## Manufacturing Industries

**As the world’s population grows, we gain awareness of the vital role the manufacturing sector plays in serving the global community.**

Contemporary industry has brought about new ways of seeing the world. Today’s methods to invent, learn, produce and trade, combine the use of virtual worlds with the real one. This overlapping of the virtual and the real forms a network that is focused on experience: tomorrow’s “factory” will no longer manufacture products but experiences. This requires the implementation of new ecosystems, markedly different from the supply chains and economic models of the past.

Virtual twin technology, which harnesses simulations and digital data to create powerful virtual models, represents an important lever for reducing carbon emissions by 2030. The ambition of our **3D**EXPERIENCE platform is to provide the digital collaborative environment —at once an innovation and operations platform, as well as a marketplace—necessary for the emergence and development of the sustainable value networks of the future.

## Life Sciences and Healthcare

**Just as there was a time before and after we flew with the Boeing 777, there will be a time before and after the virtual twin of the human body.**

The healthcare industry is changing at an extraordinary pace. It is an exciting time, marked by significant shifts in the strategies of key healthcare stakeholders. The transformation taking place in healthcare organizations involves fundamental changes in business processes, strategic planning, regulations and technological solutions. The industry is now looking to deliver more satisfying, patient-centric, outcome-driven experiences and to create the necessary frameworks to support these efforts.

With the **3D**EXPERIENCE platform, Dassault Systèmes’ ambition is to aggregate knowledge and know-how to disseminate best practices in healthcare. This is made possible by visualizing and forecasting responses to treatment or intervention thanks to virtual twins of the human body. This vision of healthcare involves placing the patient at the heart of the medical process, and therefore integrating the issues of trust, ethics and the protection of personal data.

## Infrastructure & Cities

**Two thirds of the world’s population will be living in cities by 2050, so that urban settings will be the focal point for most innovations.**

Sustainable urban development has entered a new era, impacted by demographic and regulatory pressures, as well as climate-related issues. Today, citizens expect a better life in more resilient, digital and attractive urban ecosystems.

This evolution will only be possible if it addresses two crucial issues: reducing carbon emissions and optimizing the consumption of natural resources. With the **3D**EXPERIENCE collaborative innovation platform, Dassault Systèmes offers the ability to design, simulate, plan, develop, analyze, and manage cities. The digital twins of an experience—which are virtual, dynamic models—fed by very large sets of geometric, topographic, demographic and climate data, allow us to simulate scenarios and design urban experiences to create sustainable solutions to today’s and tomorrow’s urban challenges.
