Manage Task AssignmentsProgram team members are provided with a consolidated list of their schedule tasks from all their assigned projects. Project members can filter their tasks based on completion status. All critical tasks are highlighted in red font for easy visibility. Task assignees can further define subtasks within constraints of the planned start and end dates defined by the summary task. In order to communicate status, project members can update task percentage completion and enter applied effort. Special tasks called “submittals” distinguish contractual program activities to deliver data to customers or for the suppliers on the team, their data deliveries to the program.
Task DeliverablesAs tasks are assigned and being worked, task deliverables should be associated and managed in the context of the task. Team members have access to an extensive list of typical aerospace document types to clearly distinguish the kinds of deliverable being developed. As deliverables progress through their lifecycle, the system automatically updates task status. This status is communicated to many levels of management whenever they utilize the roll-up reporting features of ENOVIA Aerospace and Defense Accelerator for Program Management, relieving team members of much of their status-reporting overhead. After tasks are completed, the deliverables can also be linked and categorized into project folders for access control and increased visibility. To keep task deliverables on schedule, program members receive automatic reminders of upcoming or late tasks via company email.
VPM Project ManagementFor companies using ENOVIA® VPM Central™, it is possible to monitor design activity within the context of a project. In V6, ENOVIA Aerospace and Defense Accelerator for Program Experience and ENOVIA VPM Central both run on the same technology platform. Therefore, users can easily search for and associate VPM data as deliverables to assigned project tasks. Tasks are assigned to designers as part of the project schedule and are accessible immediately within his design environment.
Program ContentAll program content and deliverables are securely managed and stored within the folder and subfolder structures. Security is established on a per project basis within the program with a project owner and/or project leads determining individual access rights with ENOVIA® Aerospace and Defense Accelerator™ for Program Management. Within a project, each folder and file maintains additional levels of security. Team members can establish a single environment where all project information — not just documents — can be managed and shared. Members can subscribe to folder and document events to become immediately informed as changes and additions occur. Reports can be executed to provide a consolidated list of project-related content from either the schedule structure or from the folder structure.
Team CollaborationProgram members can create ad-hoc routes or workflows to circulate tasks, projects and files for further work and/or approvals and conduct online discussions regarding a project or task. All team members can subscribe, view and comment on the original discussion topic or any of the subsequent responses.
Issue / Risk ManagementIssues are real incidents, inquiries or problems that are impacting a program negatively, and risks are anything that has the potential to impact a program negatively. Issue management provides a context for capturing, tracking and closing Issues in the context of a project. Issues are identified, captured, classified and assigned to project members for resolution. Risk management enables program teams to identify, quantify, analyze and mitigate program risks. During the analysis process, risks need to be assessed and quantified in two dimensions. These two dimensions are impact and probability with ranges from 1-5. These dimension values are used to determine each risk priority and clarify which program risks need mitigation to help minimize the potential negative impact. Team members can be assigned tasks from special risk-mitigation sub-projects.
Access PLM Data with Microsoft ApplicationsWith ENOVIA Aerospace and Defense Accelerator for Program Experience users create and access Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) data from the most popular Microsoft applications. This enables enterprise-level collaboration while not disrupting the established productivity of end users. Users can access all files in the ENOVIA system as if they have been saved locally on their PC’s hard drive. ENOVIA business objects such as programs, projects, contracts, correspondence folders, submittals, tasks and other artifacts are represented as directories and files on the user’s PC, which enables easy saving and retrieval of files regardless of their format (CAD, PDF, MS Office, etc.). Using Windows Explorer, it is possible to easily store files in ENOVIA using popular Windows functions such as “cut and paste” and “drag and drop”. Through the Microsoft Office tools (Word®, Excel®, PowerPoint®, Outlook®), users can easily save, browse and navigate product content with standard “Open,” “Insert,” “Save,” and “Save As” dialogs to perform PLM actions such as search, document lock/unlock, file check in/check out, delete, version and revise. In addition, the following is also possible: - Comply with company standards using document templates stored in ENOVIA and accessed with Microsoft Office applications - Access data from ENOVIA that has been populated automatically into MS Word tables - Search the ENOVIA database to find product information -Subscribe to document modification events - Route documents for review, comment and approval - Record key decisions and customer correspondence with saved email threads
