DELMIA Version 6 Release 2013x

A 3DEXPERIENCE of Global Production Systems for sustainable development

Manufacturing Planning

Manufacturing Planning provides the manufacturing communities throughout the supply chain with comprehensive 3D process and resource planning solutions for creating and optimizing build-to-order and lean production manufacturing systems.

DELMIA Process Planning

Process Planning for All Industries

DELMIA Process Planning (PPG) delivers essential process planning capabilities for all manufacturing industries. Process planners are able to create and validate processes, establish links between products, processes and resources, and define precedence constraints. DELMIA Process Planning also enables the planner to perform time studies based on proven industry standards.

DELMIA Process Planning provides the planners with a virtual 3D environment to efficiently define their process plans using a process centric approach. These plans can then be leveraged by downstream stakeholders, minimizing re-work, as they further enrich the plan from concept to execution.

  • Easy-to-use breakthrough User Interface for process and work-plan definition
  • Support collaborative and concurrent planning for multiple users
  • Identify in one click the - work to do - by process planners
  • Validate process plan and work-plan in 3D
  • Define time analysis according to proven industry standards
  • Balance operations and check manufacturing system utilization with respect to cycle time
  • Re-use process plan and work-plan from best practices
  • Easy-to-use breakthrough User Interface for process and work-plan definition
Using the Live Editors, customers can quickly become productive in process definition with the help of 3D. Defining a process, assigning a part to a process, or defining resource specifications for a process are no longer tasks reserved for an expert, but can now be done easily and intuitively.
  • Support collaborative and concurrent planning for multiple users
Because defining a process plan and the corresponding manufacturing system for a product is rarely done by only one planner, the process structure and manufacturing system structure allow multiple planners to work in parallel and to define their subset of the manufacturing planning.
  • Identify in one click the - work to do - by process planners
During the process planning phase, planners need to understand both the work done and the work to do. With the work-list function, one click gives planners a view of the parts not yet assigned to any processes. They can simply drag and drop the part onto a process until their "to do" work-list is empty.
  • Validate process plan and work-plan in 3D
To avoid assembly problems in the shop-floor after Start Of Production (SOP), planners need to validate their work-plan first in design position. By using the system verification function, the process planners can replay the operation sequence, visualize the state of the product in 3D for each operation, and validate their work-plans.
  • Define time analysis according to proven industry standards
In the industry, the duration of an operation is defined with industry standard such as MTM 1, MTM 2, UAS, SAM and others. Time analysis functions allow the planner to define accurate time for an operation by using standard data cards.
  • Balance operations and check manufacturing system utilization with respect to cycle time
To deliver a volume of product in a defined time, the manufacturing systems need to respect a cycle time. With Manufacturing System Gantt functions, planners can define the operations done in the different manufacturing systems and check the manufacturing system utilization based on the cycle time. The process planners can drag and drop an operation from one manufacturing system to another to better balance resource utilization.
  • Re-use process plan and work-plan from best practices
When defining a manufacturing system for a product, usually process planners do not start from scratch; they re-use their company's know-how . With the Insert Process or Manufacturing System from Catalog function, a planner can re-use a complete manufacturing system or a set of operations to start planning.
