Topology and Shape Optimization in Abaqus
Course Objective
When used in combination with finite element analyses, topology and shape optimization techniques can help you refine your designs and produce lightweight, strong and durable components. In addition, using structural optimization techniques can significantly reduce the number of design iterations required during a product development process. This leads to huge savings in tooling costs and vastly reduces the time to market for the product.
The objective of this seminar is to introduce Abaqus users to the Abaqus Topology Optimization Module (ATOM). ATOM is an easy to use interface native to Abaqus/CAE for setup, execution, monitoring and postprocessing of topology and shape optimization problems. In combination with Abaqus analysis products, ATOM offers an unparalleled structural optimization capability for highly nonlinear problems. Note that an additional license is required to submit an optimization process.
Who Should Attend
This seminar is recommended for finite element analysts or product designers with some background in finite element analysis. Some familiarity with Abaqus/CAE is also useful but not required. However, if you are not familiar with Abaqus/CAE, we recommend that you work through a brief introductory tutorial before attending the class, such as the one provided in the "Creating and Analyzing a Simple Model in Abaqus/CAE" appendix of the Getting Started with Abaqus: Interactive Edition manual.
