This exam is intended to test the candidate’s conceptual understanding of basic finite element analysis and its practical application using the Abaqus Unified FEA product suite. 

The following products are covered in the exam: Abaqus/CAE, Abaqus/Standard, and Abaqus/Explicit.

Taking the exam requires preparation and minimum practical experience using Abaqus. Formal preparation includes completing the “Introduction to Abaqus” class as well as reading the “Getting Started with Abaqus” manual and completing the tutorial problems contained therein. At least 3-6 months experience using Abaqus is strongly recommended prior to taking this exam.
