3DEXPERIENCE is a catalyst for innovation, enabling any enterprise stakeholder to participate in the innovation process, contributing to drive value for the end consumer.

Delivering a complex project such as a nuclear power plant, offshore drilling platform, an oil refinery or other capital and resource-intensive project in the energy industry requires a reliable information backbone. This enables all project stakeholders easy access, around-the-clock,to project information, streamlining collaboration and ensuring data consistency. One single source of up-to-date project information enables Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) companies, Owners-Operators (OO) and other project stakeholders to share information and collaborate effectively in a globally distributed project environment.
The Capital Project Management (CPM) solution from Dassault Systèmes (DS) enables the management of all aspects of a project - schedules, resources, processes, costs and deliverables - in a single system. This facilitates global collaboration and improves project ecosystem productivity from Front End Engineering and Design (FEED) through commissioning and operations, enabling superior construction quality as well as on-time and on-budget project delivery. Project teams can seamlessly create, collaborate, share and manage information globally using best-in-class templates with predefined phases, gates and milestones. Managers can focus on high value activities while real-time dynamic dashboards provide the project management scorecards, eliminating tedious tasks and processes.
As power plants, offshore oil rigs or refineries operate from 40 to 60 years - outliving the career-span of most engineers or project managers - there are recurring needs for refurbishment and/or revamping projects. DS' Capital Project Management (CPM) solution provides the ability to store and allow access to all plant asset and process information, including changes and revision history. This enables significant improvement in time-to-completion for post-commissioning or retrofit projects. In the case of older plants that were built in a pre-computer era, the issue is not whether the project information still exits but whether it is consistent with the sources and easily accessible to stakeholders. One of the key tasks today when undertaking life extension or refurbishment projects is to make these vital records accessible in a digital environment. In an industry where time is measured in hundreds of thousands of dollars per hours, project management in conjunction with process simulation and scheduling tools perform vital functions in maximizing workflow and enabling optimal utilization of all available resources while avoiding expensive downtimes and delays.
With CATIA and ENOVIA, Hydro-Québec will be able to collaborate more effectively with its partners and expedite the resolution of problems that can occur during the project development stage.
