Product Overview
The Microstation DGN to CATIA V5 is a direct translation solution from Theorem and has been developed to achieve the translation of DGN data into the CGR/CATpart/CATproduct format so as it can be imported into an active CATIA V5 environment allowing externally designed components to be brought together in a single application.
Taking individual Microstation geometric items and creating a CATpart or CGR representation creates geometric representations for use in CATIA V5 or Delmia. The product has been developed using both the Bentley Microstation and the Dassault Systemes CATIA V5 API’s.
The CADverter runs from either within Microstation using a standard menu option allowing casual users to make effective use of the product without needing to remember complex syntax or alternatively may be executed external to Microstation using a standard batch processing methodology.
The command line interface allows the conversion process to be integrated into any process oriented operation e.g. create a DGN representation of the data while saving the CGR data to a Data Vault. Alternatively the conversion process may be operated by using the standard CADverter Graphical User Interface. N.B The command line version is also able to be integrated in to any PDM environment.
